Georgia Surfer was recently renamed into Georgia Goldrusher after their January 22nd announcement happened.

@@arturobianco848 The Vekoma motorbike is Magic Mountain, Georgia Goldrusher is an Intamin Ultra Surf model, it's essentially a bigger version of the surfrider model with a splashdown.

@ CF is known for giving their ride backstories and theming and saw that the name “Georgia Surfer” being generic since it was the name that won SFOG’s naming contest, which was done pre-merger. By retheming Surfer to Georgia Goldrusher, it now has conections towards Dahlonega Mine Train and also have a completely different color scheme instead of the blue and orange color, that it initially had after coming from a park that was rumored to have come from Vietnam who originally ordered it before SF acquired it last minute after those plans fell through.

Bold predictions: - All new Six Flags coasters open on or before July 1st. -- Flash - opens on GAdv's opening day or soon after -- Georgia Goldrusher - opens in late April/early May -- Wrath of Rakshasa - opens Memorial Day weekend -- Siren's Curse and Quantum Accelerator both open on (or slightly before) Juneteenth; both coasters are in states with late-out schools -- AlpenFury opens on Canada Day (July 1st) - Both COTAland and Mattel Adventure Park open in 2025, with COTAland opening first (and their tilt coaster narrowly beating out Siren's Curse) - The following rides get removed at the combined SF/CF parks: Time Warp (CW), Superman EFK (SFMM), Flash: Vertical Velocity (SFDK), Invertigo (KI), Batwing (SFA), and a couple of others; X2, Viper, the Bat (KI), the FoF clones, and the Freeze clones are safe for now IMHO - The Carowinds water ride goes on the former rapids ride plot, with a GCI going in the Nighthawk plot for 2027 or 2028

I live up in the area towards cedar point (kinda) and the winter has been much worse than predicted which definitely could be slowing construction. I know we’ve had a ton of snow, Sandusky has had less but I imagine that caused some delays to sirens curse.

@@AirtimeThrills Joker at GAdv was originally named Total Mayhem before retheaming it to a DC theme a few months after its announcement. The track color was originally orange and red before changing it to purple and green to fit with Joker. That was notably the last time where this such instance has occurred.

Phoenix Rising is not half as rattly at Penguin Trek. And I think that within a couple seasons or so we will get ride announcements again once the new SF/CF mega company has found its footing

They have to file permits. That said at least at Great Adventure there’s a lot of activity around Cyborg. People are saying it’s being removed. Google says it’s permanently closed but who knows because there’s no permit to remove it. And the last plans around the Flash had them keeping Cyborg. Is Cyborg a good ride no. But it might be gone next year while being excluded for Great Adventures giant list.

They picked a lot of the low hanging fruit in the first 14 years. Fewer conversions and more ground up projects have always been inevitable.

EPR is the company that bought Wild Waves in 2016 for those wondering (I had to look that up). My comment was more about Why no new RMC conversions are in the works. But you are right. I believe the video i watched was from Coaster Studios. And only 1 of the 4 available credits was open the day they were there. That's bad.

I'm one of the VERY few that was okay with and defended Kingda Ka's removal, as long as it's replaced with something elite. I always had suspicions that the high cost of maintaining Ka was the reason we got so few additions compared to other top tier parks. The biggest short term negative I saw was with The Flash, it has sh*t capacity and with less coasters being offered in the park it'll be even longer waits for the ones that remain. If GA replaces Ka with that awful capacity Mack spinning launch coaster, I'll be eating my words big time. I'm praying it's not that! I assumed they had a grand plan if they were removing Ka knowing they would get backlash, but if it does end up being that Mack ride, then I'm sorry everyone and you were all correct!

@ There was a post by an anonymous ex-employee (they are probably under NDA and if just laid off speaking would mean losing their severance so I am not going to hold that against someone in a bad economy). Saying most of the rides are busted and not safe to operate. They said statements that a lot of rides just aren’t going to operate at all next year as well. There were other claims too but the ride safety and closures are what caught my attention most. Now is this the lies and exaggerations of an ex-employee. Quite possible. We won’t know until the park opens and start operating, but if the maintenance is as bad as they say they might have a lot of issues. Also I wouldn’t call the rides closing trash. If they wanted to close trash rides they would have closed rides like Maxx Force at SFGAm. But somehow that thing is still standing.

My prediction for Alpen Fury is that it won't be ready on Opening Day, but for what we call Memorial Day Weekend in the states...but no more than 1-2 weeks after

CGA is closing on the same time schedule. It was always scheduled to be closed end of 2027. Just look at the change in accelerated depreciation they made in 2022, after the deal finalized to take the depreciation thru end of 2027. The initial lease ends in June 202, they never had any intention of exercising the option to extend. The lease terms are prohibitive with the yearly increases on a park that already makes little money. They close the park in end of 2027 and the have 6 months to relocate, sell or demolish things before the lease ends June 2029. They even put an estimated demolition cost in the fiscal report for 2023.

Permits were found for a Vekoma Thrill Glider. What exactly a Thrill Glider is is still technically speculation, but best bets seem to point to some sort of suspended straddle coaster.
