I think Magic Mountain will either get built up further or get sold. It depends on how desperate the new company is to sell assets. Magic Mountain does not compete in the same market as Kings Island or Cedar Point so that really won't have anything to do with it. If the new company begins to expand the parks, that won't happen quickly. Magic Mountain is on some very valuable real estate and Six Flags almost sold it previously out of desperation. I doubt that will happen but it certainly could. But if the new company weathers the storm they'l probably want Magic Mountain to get a bigger chunk of the southern California market. But I doubt that would mean a ton of new coasters but probably it would get a bunch of park improvements to really clean it up to look more like a place like Kings Island.

It will get quality upgrades but coasters are its main draw and that wont change. They have their well themed park in Knotts, SFMM is the coaster park. Just improve the image and keep doing what makes you a destination park

@@BurgerInATux The reason SF wanted this merger and actually need it as they are floundering as their management has been horrible for decades. SF financial results have been poor for years, even as other chains were producing post pandemic records SF was going to 2017 levels of financials. There is no point of the merger from the SF perspective, if they are going to keep doing the same failed stuff. SF wanted to do premiumization and they failed at it with Selim. CF has actually done premiumization the last decade successfully and that's what will be implemented at the top 6 or so SF parks.

I wouldn't be surprised if Gold Coaster at Dreamworld is one of the last Arrow's around as well. It runs pretty well, minimal maintenance issues and had new Vekoma trains in 2015. The way the waterpark is built around it, I'd say it's got another 10-15 years in it.

So BGT is my home park. I'm not going to say buy/sell on this one, but I think after Phoenix Rising, they take a year off (to avoid trying to outshine Epic Universe), then we get the Giga. I'm honestly surprised that Pantopia Theater wasn't demolished to make Phoenix Rising longer because they do not use that building much. I don't think Scorpion is going anywhere since it does pretty well with the GP but if they do get rid of it, it opens up a lot of land if they extend beyond Scorpion's current plot

Buy or Sell: Kings Island's next coaster will not be a B&M. It's going to be a launched coaster. They havent introduced any since before CF even took over. FoF is from 1996 and Backlot Stunt Coaster came out in 2005. They're overdue, and nearby parks Indiana Beach and Kentucky Kingdom don't have any. And Holiday World only has Thunderbird. The next closest would be CP, and I don't think launched coasters are a competition threat between CP and KI. I'll take it a step further. Maybe this won't happen for the NEXT coaster, but KI will be removing the ampitheatre and Invertigo (possibly remove/relocate Congo Falls) for a new front gate coaster. Invertigo is the last of the inverted boomerangs I believe, I don't see it staying for a decade longer. Despite how much I like it. Maybe the station is where Son of Beast is, and it's a winding layout to the front. There's room and it'd give some love to Action Zone again

They both have stated why before in detail, quick summary a park costs minimum 500M to build and you aren't getting a return or actual profit for decades. Capital is much better spent on existing parks to get quicker and more reliable ROIC . There is a reason CF nor SF has built a park in 40 years. The talk of potential guests and other nearby states is delusional thoosie talk. 95%+ of all guest at regional theme parks are within 100 miles. So, the actual market is whatever is in that 100 mile radius. FYI, waterparks are firt cheap so a Hurricane Harbor which they don't even actually own, it's a lease park is irrelevant. Given CF management will be in charge CEO and CFO, they aren't in to leases, the most likely get rid of the lease parks at lease end

Oh 1 thing i'd like to add about Zambezi Zinger...... It was a MAINTENANCE NIGHTMARE and that ride broke down every day. It'll be up for about an hour, then go down then go up again and be fine for about another 2-3 hours then go down again, yeah it was a nightmare, even during the morning testing when we had to test the block brake it went down too. Trust me i worked there for the 50th anniversary of WOF it was a nightmare for me as well.

Agree that parks would tailor live entertainment and dining to the World Cup, but not necessarily add a new coaster. That said, 2026 would probably still be good years for Knott's or Magic Mountain, Fun Spot Atlanta, Hersheypark, Canada's Wonderland, Six Flags Mexico, or SFNE (if the Goliath / Flashback replacement is delayed) to get a major new addition. Over Texas might want to replace La Vibora with a Gravitykraft woodie around then to compete with the Universal park as well. The Vekoma Super Boomerang will probably be a capacity nightmare for Great Adventure, but they'll capitalize off Flash Pass sales as long as guests are willing to pay for them.

I will say that SFOT has been struggling with Mr.freeze recently. This season alone it's valleyed more than 4 times already. It's also been a bad season for OT where it's always a walk on. They even had to limit how they run it due to power concerns. I personally don't see it lasting much longer with the merger in place. Cedar fair loves to get rid of unreliable rides.
