So watched this yet AGAIN! Lol... and outside of the incredible creativeness of these players... which cannot be given enough accolades... we need to once again play so much homage to AWB for this tune that has provided us with decades of Sax Jamming!! Pick Up The Pieces is the cut that just keeps cutting! Incredible tune!

THISSSSS.....RITE HERE......WAS ABSOLUTELY & INCREDIBLY INSAAAAAAANE!!! Smooth-Groooved to EVERY D@MN SECOND of this CLASSIC JOINT!!! The ALTO-SAXIST (@ the end) STRAIGHT-UP, "KABOOOM BLEW UP THE ROOM" with that EXHILARATINGLY, DYNAMIC-MELODIC SOLO!! The ENTIRE PERFORMANCE was 1 of the most IMPRESSIVE COVERS I HAVE EVER SEEN & HEARD of AWB's "Pick Up the Pieces" (& believe me, I've seen NUMEROUS covers of this joint over the years)! Rating this on a scale of 1-10...... I GIVE THIS A 99!!......Freakin' AWESOME!!!

What would Charlie Parker, Lester Young, Michael Brecker, and John Coltrane think of this. One chord solo vamp.
@AlexFlanderzzz9 жыл бұрын
Sorry mate, as much as those guys played more complex things over more chords- by the way, these solos aren't just on one chord- music is still music and they certainly would have gotten into the groove.
@owenthomas63378 жыл бұрын
+matt knowles Well, seeing as how one of the most famous Pick Up The Pieces live solos is by Michael Brecker himself, I guess at least one of them would approve!

They damn sure didn't try to act cute to get girls! They were bent on destroying stereotypes intelligently! Clones don't have a clue how to play that's why they have to copy! It's just a game to get paid with clones!

@ matt Knowles who cares their dead.. And who cares because there were more changes in those days.. Ppl want to groove and dance.. Most are not concerned about what kind of chord you played our about how many changes you played through consecutively.. Music is music
