Αιτωλικό - Η μικρή "Βενετία" της Ελλάδος από ψηλά
Το Αιτωλικό, κωμόπολη, καλούμενη και μικρή " Βενετία " της Ελλάδας, είναι του δήμου Μεσολογγίου, με πληθυσμό 5.349 κατοίκους, δέκα χιλιόμετρα βορειοδυτικά του Μεσολογγίου. Η πόλη του Αιτωλικού είναι ανεπτυγμένη σ’ ένα μικρό νησάκι ριζωμένο στο νερό στο μέσον περίπου της λιμνοθάλασσας Αιτωλικού-Μεσολογγίου. Συνδέεται ανατολικά και δυτικά με την ξηρά με δύο πέτρινα τοξοτά γεφύρια αρ μήκους περίπου 300 μέτρων το καθένα.

Aetoliko, a town called little "Venice" of Greece, belongs to the municipality of Messolonghi, with a population of 5,349 inhabitants, ten kilometers northwest of Messolonghi. The city of Aetoliko is developed on a small island rooted in the water in the middle of the lagoon of Aetoliko-Messolonghi. It is connected east and west with the land with two stone arched bridges about 300 meters long each.
