When my mum got a new boyfriend. My sister and I made it clear to him that he will never be our father but we will treat him as a friend. I was 22 when he and mum started dating and my sister was 16 so its not like he was part of our lives growing up.

NTA. Nobody is entitled to the title of mom or dad not even blood related parents. The only people who have any say in the matter is the kid themself. They award people that title so if step dad is only moms husband then he’s only moms husband. He isn’t entitled to be considered op’s dad or to have a father child bond with op. Op decides not only who their dad is but what they do with their time so if they say they are spending Father’s Day with their father then that’s final. It may hurt to have your step kid not accept you as a parent but you cannot ever try to force that relationship cause that will only make your bond worst.
