To be fair the answer to all these very good questions is because JK couldn't world-build something that makes sense if her life depended on it because she uses the Rule of Cool to write and then comes up with answers to questions about loopholes post-production. I mean the wizarding world doesn't even have lawyers! No wonder the Killing Curse, which is probably the most merciful way to kill someone, is illegal while it's perfectly legal to suck one's sanity and soul out via dementor on the Minister's whim, considering that their house of parliament is basically all gatekept by the Minister and galleons. Case in point Sirius Black, and the ridiculous notion that an abused child like Sebastian could even be sent to Azkaban for killing an Auror in self-defense when the man was throwing 'curses' like Confringo and Fiendfyre- Ahem sorry, ended up doing a rant of my own on top of Ominis'- Still love Harry Potter don't get me wrong, but the woman's just good at storytelling and she's got good ideas but it kinda ends there, JK ain't a world-builder

Hallelujah actual communication. To be fair, I feel like Sebastian would have responded exactly like this to Ominis' indeed sound reasoning, IF the whole Anne situation wasn't in the picture, it was really messing with Seb's brain, especially with his uncle shooting down everything he tried regardless of whether it was dark arts or not. On top of the most promising lead he'd ever gotten being from a founder of Hogwarts and the founder of his own house and the ancestor of his best friend. Social engineering is such a difficult thing to weed out, from the goblin racism, to rebelliousness against the common conception of Slytherins having an affinity with the dark arts, to his uncle's aggressive stubbornness and obstinance, and possibly with the thought that Ominis has cast an unforgivable and is still clearly a GOOD person, you can see just how much Sebastian's experiences shaped the wrong directions he went in. Ominis is good so he clearly you can cast unforgivables and still be a good person, thus no magic is inherently malicious. I feel like it makes total sense and clearly comes from a place of love. Plus it's just correct by principle, the game literally opens with that philosophical statement. "Magic is no different than any power, what matters is the one who wields it." ~Professor Fig

This is my idea. AITA for choosing my granddaughter instead of my greedy brother's heir. (title) The granddaughter is MC. She gets her ancient magic from her grandfather. In the room of requirement, maybe? Sebastian said, "Here is another one! They write... AITA." Ominis said, "Good evening, Sebastian and Darling." MC said, "Good evening, Ominis... What happens to your clothes and hair?" Ominis said, "Garreth in Potion class." MC said, "Merlin, I swear, is it me, or is Garreth getting worse?" Sebastian said, "It seems so." Ominis said, "Oh, don't worry, Professor Sharp, take 20 points off Gryffindor and give Garreth detention for 2 weeks." Sebastian said, "Anyway, AITA for choosing my granddaughter as the heir instead of my brother's heir?" Sebastian said, "I, a powerful wizard in his eighties, have a granddaughter who is fifteen. She's very bright and powerful, just like me." Ominis said, "Sounds just like you." to MC. Mc said, "Oh, meanie." Sebastian "Anyway, I am very ill, and I am at St. Mungo's Hospital, and there is no one who can cure me; I have no doubt that my granddaughter can take care of the duties of being the heir and ladyship when her time comes, my brother and his children who live in America are greedy and selfish to get all of of the money, property, and title, I know my brother and his children will not look after my granddaughter properly." Ominis said, "Why am I not surprised nearly every pureblood witch or wizard thanks about that way." MC said, "That is disgusting. It would be best if you looked after your family. The consequences could be dire." Sebastian said, "It seems he is worried about his granddaughter; I know my sister and my granddaughter's godfather will take care of her and teach her everything that's to be an heir and a ladyship, as our family words say "family, duty & honor," could I have done it another way, AITA. (I'll let you decide on yes or no on the AITA?) MC said, "Wait a second, Sebastian, can I look at that paper?" Sebastian said, "Sure, honey." Ominis said, "What is it, darling? Did something catch your attention?" MC said, "I thought so in his eighties, and in St. Mungo's Hospital, it's my grandfather." Sebastian said, "Oh, I am very sorry." Ominis said, "Me too, but I thought you had no relatives." MC said, "Oh, I do. May Grandfather cared for me when my mother died after giving birth." Ominis said, "And your father?" MC said, "Don't know, don't care." Sebastian said, "So you have a ?" MC said, "Grandaunt and my Godfather take care of me now." Ominis said, "That is good, anyway look at the time we should go back to our common rooms; goodnight Sebastian and darling." Sebastian said, "Goodnight, Ominis, and love."
