Because they use pre assembled rocket missile. Building new rocket just to have 1 stage missile is expensive and would decrease the ammount of rocket they can have. Also reliability isn't really an issue so long you maintain them, remember reliability not just kept working despite lack of care but also easy of maintenance and easy of spare part manufacturing

Two stage interceptor make a lot of sense when you target the interception to be in space, it allows the kill vehicle to be very light. The lighter an object is, the easier is to change its direction/trajectory meaning better maneuverability. Better maneuverability increases the chances of intercepting a target, especially those that try to do evasive manuevers.

Most of the ABM weapon is a fuel tank and fuel. Can a .45 magnum bullet really put a hole through an engine block? A critically dense plasma is opaque to light and if concentrated solar is focused onto it, an extreme high temperature much higher than the melting point of a solid collector could be obtained. This extreme high temperature much higher than the temperature of burning jet fuel could drive a powerful ram jet engine. If the plane is angled towards the sun to properly align the mirror, the solar energy can be used to accelerate the ram jet and climb to the upper atmosphere and possibly into space. If the jet can be miniaturized down to a tiny size as small as one centimeter and weigh one gram, it might be fired from the ground from an air gun and destroy a nuclear warhead illuminated by laser light 50 miles up in the atmosphere. If the micro ram jet costs $10, it night be deployed by the millions for less than the cost of one nuclear warhead and make it impossible or near impossible for a missile to get past the defense. But what if it is dark? If the ram jet is travelling fast enough it can travel faster than the sun sets and remain on the lighted side of the Earth for any length of time. Israel has 4 layers of defence system: 1.iron dome: rockets drones uav and artillery 2.david sling: long range rockets uav and cruise missiles 3. Arrow 2: ballistic missiles 4. Arrow 3. Advanced ballistic missile, so it's doesn't matter if they launch 1000 drones and 10 ballistic missiles because each target will be intercepted by different systems

Comparing ARROW with THAAD or PATRIOT is not correct as both are short-mid range. ARROW should be compared with SM3, as both of them have super long range, > 1200km.
