It was stated that aizens spiritual pressure was so great that its one of the forces thats keeping the realms in balance. Plus he already had unohana and everyone under hypnosis The only ones who were a threat to aizen was Yama and some members of squad 0 like ichibe.

He might even knows the fragments of the Soul king since Aizen says here "No one sits atop, not even god, which implies the no one really is sitting atop but the remains of the Soul King. That explains alot why he needed the hogyoku and arrancar, since quincy might develop a technology that can steal a Bankai and Arrancars are the replacements on the upcoming war but failed miserably. That was my conclusions.
