Edited: Nixon passed a permanent DST law back in 1974. Public support dropped from an estimated 79% to 42% during the winter, so it was repealed. The deaths of at least 6 children in FL were attributed to the darker winter mornings.

@@Sports_BS there's something to it tho. If it goes I to effect the sun won't rise until after 8am on the east coast and not until nearly 9 in the Midwest. People will be commuting to work and school in the dark and cold in winter. Roads will be more icy and traffic accidents will inevitably rise in dark icy conditions.

The expensive gas is on purpose for their green energy agenda. Not that they’ll push the cleanest energy in nuclear or upgrade the grid to handle everyone going electric though. Right, but that still means no "falling back" with the blocks in fall. They'll "spring forward" in March and stay that way now, which means more afternoon sun in the winter.

I went snowboarding for the first time on my 23rd birthday last year and I can say being sore is a understatement 😂😂😂it was fun and different I recommend to anyone, I saw people skiing as well it looked fun I’m going to try it one day. Just know for rookies you’ll fall a lot, I fell over 30 times. Bring your own snow suit! I thought they gave you one, they give you everything but that, I was up there freezing in a great birthday outfit😂🏂

Not turning the clock back would NOT make more light for winter months. Also DST started back in WWI never heard anything about DST starting because of farmers. By the way I farmed for years and now I’m in a United States Marine definitely started back because of WW1.

Indiana just recently adopted daylight savings, we were one of two states in the continental US that never changed our clocks. Come to think of it we changed it about the time the Colts got a new punter. Maybe they changed because it would have confused the yinzer to much.

Yup - I grew up in Indy when it didn't change, and when I moved elsewhere I never really got used to the weirdness. Now I live in Japan, which also does not change. So I'll be happy when the whole US picks a time and stays with it so I don't struggle to calculate the time difference ("Hmm, let's see... it's March, so is California 16 or 17 hours behind us?").

Far left Eastern Time time is way better then far right Central time. Basically getting the same daylight but it's an hour later here. Sun sets like 3:00 in the winter, it's terrible.

Y'all realize getting rid of daylight saving means *winter stays the same* right? It is currently daylight savings time. Winter is standard time. This does mean that the spring forward won't happen, meaning that sun will set at 9pm instead of 10. Don't let a mild inconvenience that lasts one sleep cycle blind you.
