I remember first hearing this song in the radio of a convenience store while I was internally struggling with a bad relationship. It cheered me up and kinda made me feel excited about what could be out there if I only let go of my abusive partner then. In a way, this song helped me to not make one of the biggest mistakes of my life, which was staying, probably for the long haul, with someone who didn't make me feel loved and appreciated anymore (quite the opposite actually). I never looked back, never regretted, and this song is now like my freedom song
