It's a battle of distance. Ruiz wins by taking away the distance and getting on the inside again. He's good at doing it. But, if you watch the Parker fight, you see Ruiz struggles when he can't close the distance. If AJ stays on his toes, keeps moving, keeps that distance, he can win. He has to do an impression of Wladimir Klitschko basically. Might not be pretty but it gives him a good chance of winning.

Ruiz very unlikely to be baffled by some long range tactics, he's been fighting and defeating that all his life...He is mobile, agile, durable, fast hands, great combos, counter punching and head movement and venomously powerful... 80/20 fight in Ruiz's favour. Joshua is a dedicated trainer, has power, reach, accuracy, fast punches and timing...but he is a big target for Ruiz and Ruiz is the more natural, schooled and fluid fighter. All opponents before Ruiz were hesitant due to Joshua's size, reach and power advantage...but Ruiz is the real deal and is like a martial arts master in his style of fighting and boxing.

AJ fans and media still don’t realise why he lost 🤦♂️. Y’all were building him so much for that first fight with Ruiz. Weeks earlier wilder KOs breazeale in spectacular fashion. AJ, as well as AJ fans put so much expectation on him to win by spectacular KO as well. His fans predicting KO in round 1. KO in round 3 blah blah. then in round 3 when AJ had Ruiz down, thought he could rush in there and finish off Ruiz who was not completely hurt more so stunned. In rushing in and trying to finish him AJ gets caught by a left hook from which he never recovers. He just needed the win. He didn’t need to go there and blast Ruiz. This is where the people around him should’ve told him just win. Box. Don’t rush things. Wilder defeated AJ without even facing him 😂.

Yes after he knock Ruiz out he run into trouble , dont make the same mistake twice
@vkdeen75705 жыл бұрын
he's done that several times vs wlad and vs whyte...his judgement on when to finish is poor probably due to lack of experience... he dives after hurting an opponent, hands lower with no head movement or footwork. got away with it vs most because he hits so hard but vs better opponents Ruiz whyte wlad he's been punished for it. hung on twice vs the others buy couldn't vs Ruiz because of his speedy pressure

I've got a lot of respect for both fighters, being from the UK want aj to win but every interview I've seen of him since the loss he seems scared😮 maybe scared is wrong word but to me personally it looks like he's not confident, when he speaks it's like he's convincing himself, but time will tell, best of luck to the both of them!

This fight is gonna be very similar to the Parker fight
@jethro6905 жыл бұрын
That's the gameplan but Ruiz fights nothing like Parker. AJ took the centre against Parker, fought long and clinched. It will be very hard for AJ to take the centre against Ruiz, who is a pressure fighter. AJ's stamina will be tested like never before in this fight as he will be moving around and boxing off his back foot for much of the fight.

Rob McCracken quote, "But eerm I'm not a fool I''ve been in boxing a long time Ruiz is top level, he's dynamic, he's quick, he's powerful, he's got good ring presence he knows how to control the ring"; that's honest for me and Rob's telling me AJ has got his work cut out against Ruiz...

I think part of the reason why Joshua lost to Ruiz is because he was a defeated man before he stepped in the ring? When he did step in the ring he wasn't his usual confident self, he had a look of concern about him, and I think it is because he allowed doubt to settle in his mind. I think all the comments prior to the fight about how Ruiz hits harder and how he has fast hand speed got to Joshua, he allowed Ruiz under his skin? Now, having fought Ruiz...and lost, I think it breaks the spell he was under at the first fight. In himself, Joshua will be out prove something to himself, for himself. Inside he will be wanting to knock Ruiz out, because he knows he can put him on the floor, he just has to hit him hard enough to keep him there. In the first fight, Joshua reminded me so much about Frank Bruno, the floundering and the slight passivity. That one punch Ruiz gave him that rocked him senseless instantly turned him into Bruno. It could happen again, so don't be surprised if the result turns out to be similar. Joshua might end up trying too hard and get all frustrated, and ultimately leave himself open to Ruiz's fast hand speed. Clearly, Joshua needs to keep him at arms length with a constant jab. Ruiz is confident on a second upset, and it could be that he'll bring too much for Joshua to handle? To succeed in this second fight, Joshua will need to be mean and hungry. If he brings the wrong reasons to the second fight, he will probably lose again. This is all about his mentality, and his stamina.
