This beautiful meditation gave me a sense of peace and stillness I haven’t experienced in other guided meditations. I understand the importance in breath-focused meditation but usually experience interference from my ego: “Am I doing this correctly, etc.”. What I found here was an experience of calm and focus without evaluative thinking. I am so happy to have stumbled across this. THANK YOU!!❤❤❤

Can someone tell me what are the words to think of on In/Out breath @ 1:27? Is it "boot" and "go"/"dough" because that's what I hear and I don't think it's right. Or maybe it doesn't matter? Thanks.
@SamaneriJayasara Жыл бұрын
The words/mantra he is encouraging us to use is: BUDDHO - which simply means wakefulness. If you put the cc's on (closed captions on the right hand side of the screen) you can find the transcript. I have also provided a link to the PDF teaching which can read for greater clarity.

Been reading a piece here and there of the translation. The method 2 you guide is a refreshing way to practice. Anapanna sati has been the area of contact for many years. I question, the instruction to change breath awareness if one gets headaches. My headaches are only brought on by light/heat/high UV output/electric lights in summer months I tried base of throat, I thought might help with throat closing attacks. Yet, breath plays between nose and throat. Breath does feel comfortable in both places. What is your recommendation? #2. Was reading Method 1, thinking that's what you offered. Why are extra-sensory abilities first Method? It's enticing to attempt that practice, yet I think one would have to master #2 first and have meetings with a teacher that has perfected #1 for Understanding the emphasis on Buddha's ability of extra-sensory perception in Stories From The Dhammapada, that Enlightenment encompasses these abilities, that in the right conditions humans can manifest.

I think the key recommendation for the breathing meditation is always to just work with what is most comfortable for you. For everyone, the place of resting the mind will be different and only an intuitive inner sense can guide you as to where that place of resting will be for you. Letting go of any ideas of psychic powers and attainments is also key to working with right view in the practice. These things can and do emerge, but not for everyone. Keep the goal of Liberation in mind (for the sake of all sentient beings) can keep us wise and grounded and able to maintain that essential authentic humility that is the Heart of the Buddha-Dharma. As the breath disappears and dissolves in the ground of Awareness, the Light of the Dharma can be allowed to shine through as our natural being. Sending much metta to you Venerable Dharma sister. 🙏🌺💜

@@SamaneriJayasara Thank you, for your kind response. Although in the robes of Tibetan tradition, after 15 years of the Ngondro Sadhana in Vajrayana instruction, no longer wish to practice in that tradition. My heartfelt wish is to take refuge in Theravada. How can I do that long-distance; living in Israel?

With palms together. The universal Wisdom of the Masters touches so many hearts of those who have other views and beliefs, yet reach liberation.

When one in Jhana states it's impossible to think about anything. Only pure awareness remains. Then how vipassana can be applied when one can't think at all? Or maybe there is something else besides simply being pure awareness?
@SamaneriJayasara Жыл бұрын
One can know with wisdom and insight beyond the thinking or discursive mind. You must know these things for yourself.
