My man, YOU ARE NOT SLOW!!! You're just riding with the Lawrence brothers (on factory equipment). The other 8 billion people on the planet can't ride like them either! It's only day 5 and your progress is looking great. Keep up the great work!!!

Glad you’re able to properly prep for the SX season this year. It seems like riding fitness was a big limiting factor in recent seasons. At least you’re going through this process now rather than during the season. Fans will realize your potential this year 👍

@waderonsse8819
@waderonsse8819 Жыл бұрын
One thing I've noticed, both this preseason and last: your self talk is like, waaay hyper critical dude. You have a fantastic understanding of the subtleties of riding technique and how the slightest changes can have immense impact on the control of the bike, and the mind is no different. Your mood impacts your inner voice and your inner voice impacts your mood and can lead to stress (affects heart rate), tension (lack of fluidity), tunnel vision, and a myriad of other things. You're absolutely correct that by the main event in a SX race the lines will be unfamiliar, but they'll be unfamiliar to everyone. The riders that can logically analyze the track, ride efficiently, and find their flow state will do best, and that all starts with being relaxed, and that starts with your inner voice. Super important to be able to turn a critical eye on oneself, but equally important to know how to keep it from interfering with you. Just 2c from a touring musician and music educator. Check out Inner Game of Tennis by Timothy Gallwey and Flow by Mihaly Csikszentmihaly, both those books are boss af. Helped me get over some fuckin massive hurdles I didn't know existed.

What you just explained about riding a fresh track and creating your own lines and then riding a used track and not gelling with the lines is exactly why some guys think they are prepared for A1 and they end up being shit. Sounds like you need to take turns at breaking in the tracks so even Jet doesnt get used to only his flow lines vs what will be formed on race day.

Whether you are tripling or doubling, you look good to me. It's obvious when you come off that you are suffering out there, but that's what it's going to take, repeatedly, to get where you want to get. It's easy for me to say, but just keep pushing, repeatedly, session after session, day after day. It's gonna be cool seeing you in the mains.

My dude-you're comparing yourself to the literal 2 best riders in the world, they're a decade younger than you with professional development time in factory programs, while training on a track that's been purpose designed to push their skills on HRC tuned machines to the max and this is your first real camp in years. Perspective is important. Winning camp shouldn't be about pacing the Lawrence bros (nobody in the lites can do that right now anyway.) Winning is showing up and putting bricks in the foundation to improve even though your mind is exhausted, your body is screaming at you and your whole week is gonna be spent eating Lawrence roost. You're gapping the privateers that aren't living like a factory rider and that'll show when the gate drops. Embrace the suck👍You've got this!

AJ you may want to bolt on a good old fashioned glide plate. it fills in between the frame rails and makes it even so when you case a jump the bike does not catch in the dirt as bad. it's a good safety item.

There are times that the old two stroke clutch technique needs to be used. Besides corner speed you can use the clutch to get extra pop off the face when seat bouncing. I have to use that on a 250f because of my weight (I’m over 200). A stock bike doesn’t have what I need. And Albert, get out of your own head. You are too worried about what your followers will say about you not doing as you say in you instructional videos. Make the stipulation that you must practice perfect but at times you have to do things that aren’t textbook. Your natural style may not be textbook. Just like eli and chase are polar opposites and both are the fastest. Same with Jason Anderson he is different as well. We have a natural style to us because how our brains are wired
