Why do people always point to the horse or hold their hand out.Do they think the horse will shake hands. Same when grown ups wave at the horse. It won't wave back. kid's i understand waving but not grown up's.😮😮

Does anyone else think when Ormond does the big head thrust (nose up), the translation might be "eff off"?

I hadn't thought of that but you could be right. Love it.

Ormond does not like tourists in his personal space his bodylanguage is crystal clear ears laid back and stiff staring look get in his space and he will bite .Respect him and his rider. Don´t approach a horse showing he does not want you near him or it will be of your own peril.

I agree as he seems to be Ok if people don't get to close or try to touch him or her . I Ould love to meet Ormond my self with out getting too close . Most of the time the ears are back and that is a bad sign for anyone near
@lisbethmnstedlarsen64313 ай бұрын
@@stephenhogg2522 It all depends on the signals(bodylanguage postures the horse is displaying) ears laid flat back and staring eyes is what indicates the horse will bite and is ready to do so.swishing his tail and shaking his mane are also quite clearly showing an annoyed horse especially when he moves towards the person which he or she regards as a nuisance but always be aware of a horses body language because they aim to let you know how they feel. I love horses and used to ride them but my allergies sadly took over but I will always love them and I am currently a coowner of some racehorses such beautiful animals,understanding them has become a hobby of mine and seeing these wonderful horses doing their job with their riders is a wonderful sight,Ijust wish those tourists would be more observant and kind to the horses show a bit of respect and courtesy towards both the kings lifeguards and their magnificent horses would be wonderful.

You do not have to be an expert in horse body language to read Ormonde's. You don't even have to be really that observant. He knows people are stupid. The children are smarter than most of the adults.

creo que este guardia le agarra demasiado al caballo, debería dejar mas libertad para que los pesados de los turistas guarden espacio, no todo vale

best to keep your distance especially from a horse that doesn't know you and/or lays its ears back - The jaw strength (masseter muscle) of a horse is about 500 psi (pounds per square inch) Humans jaw strength are usually less than 200 psi, while a Pit Bull measures 235 psi (#3 dog breed in jaw strength). injuries can be severe, however, ranging from simple lacerations, through loss of skin and flesh, all the way to amputation of fingers, ears, or noses. Severe bruising, torn connective tissue, and fractures are also possible results of being bitten by a horse.

You would be angry to if hundreds of people/strangers were in your face for atleast and hour a day. Sometimes the horse may do 2 shifts in a work day.

I wonder my self what Ormond is like for getting ready for duty . Maybe it is a different horse at the stables .

It's not the job of the king's guard to protect every highly stupid tourist from getting a nip and yet he's done just that throughout this video. He must be exhausted watching all these pests trying to touch Ormonde.

People comment on the warning sign; but given this horse has bitten on a number of occasions and is known to be be bitey he should be removed from contact with the public (such as a dangerous dog that bites a few times). People may not agree but remember a large number of foreign tourists would not be able to read English and, in the heat of the moment, may get too close; it is the responsibility of the animals owners to safeguard the public. One day a serious injury may be sustained.

The horse is a trooper working for the king and government. Its his duty to stand and guard, which he does perfectly . if you notice the guard has him on a tight rein mostly so as to avoid biting too much. If the ignorant public don't take in the notice or are too stupid to realise (if foreign) that a large horse will bite, then thats their look out.
