Yay! Ajmal Hatkora Wood. An extremely dry, rich, salty and sour citrus that lasts a very good amount on me. Super refreshing! Has dimension as a kind of vintage chypre made with rich ingredients, including real ambergris and in an Eastern style. One can also pick up a creamy sandalwood and nice funky hindi oud in there too giving it smokiness. Maybe some fixative like any perfume so not surprising, but mostly naturals. Surprising review to say the least since you said you like hindi oud. 1001 nights and Shams was quite common smelling but still very nice as you say for the price and can compete with western niche ouds. So interesting how we all perceive scent so differently lol🤗since I didn't like La Douleur Exquise or Belle Ame too much I felt bad. I sincerely hope Des Cendres will be better. But everyone online seems to like them so that's pretty nice! Hope you're having a good day!

Hatkora wood is one of my favorite from this house along with amber wood. This stays over a day on my skin and projects like a bomb and very few perfumes do last on me. I do get anosmic with ISO E Super but never with this. Also, during the dry down I get a creamy sandalwood + amber + white musk. It's definitely a summer scent. Heard this got reformulated twice once in 2014 and once in 2016. There is amber wood from the same line which I like more. Do try Amir 2, Oudesire and Bakhak Amiri(India exclusive) if you can. all are oud based perfumes.

I've been hearing alot about Zadig and Voltaire - This is Him and decided to finally pick it up after watching this video. Thank you for this interesting discussion of Ajmal as I'm currious about the house. Any knowledge of a discovery set from them? All I've been able to find online so far is a women's discovery set.

Great take on Hatkora Wood, Ramsey. I knew that you would not find it interesting, and you're right. If you want the best of the best from Ajmal, get your nose on Amir One & Amir Two, they are the come back to the scene for the founder of the brand after leaving the whole business to his son, and what a comeback it was! Quality, blending and value for money are through the roof, can compete with a five time more expensive fragrances from the high end brands. Also, Ajmal Purely Orient Tonka & Purely Orient Incense are worth checking out if you can find a good deal coz they are discounted but still available online. If you're into Attars, Ajmal Mukhallat Dehn Al oud Moattaq is so gorgeous blend, comes in 18 ml oil worth every penny.. Keep it up mate💪

🤔 I always considered Ajmal just another cheap middle eastern clone brand. One of the first 4 along with Rasasi, Afnan and Armaf (Sterling). Picked up Evoke Gold years back before it ever showed up on YT and it's a great peppery amber take on Prada's L'homme. A buddy of mine let me smell one from them called Cashmere Wood and it was clearly DHI. So they definitely have some inspirations, but perhaps few and far between? I somehow remember eyeing Silver Shade when I was trying to warm up to Creed's SMW too. Ended up with Al Wisam Day from Rasasi and it got me there with that additional sweet rose-lavender.

I also own Al Wisam Day but never talk about it because I dont really like it that much ... you should try the two heavy oud / oriental style frags... 1001 nights & Mukhallat Al Shams and let me know if I am crazy or if they feel like they could sell for 10 times the price listed 😆

@@RamseytheRam I noticed that as well. Middle eastern brands have a history of doing woody scents right regardless of price. Although many of the clone brands have been leaning heavily on woody amber materials lately, many of their synthetic ouds outclass any designer or sometimes niche immitations by miles.

Hey Ramsey, i know i've been naging about this but you really have to try the purely orient line from ajmal. That is the crown jewel of the brand believe me. Santal, incense even tonka i think you would like because of the quality. Take care man 🖐️🖐️

Yes although I did get a slight oud accord in the late dry down last time I wore it... it just wasnt as loved by me as 1001 nights & mukhallat Al Shams 😊

@@RamseytheRam yes shams is very potent and very mature thing for younger ones. I am from india and we have easily get shams kind of oud frags in Indian. hatkora is unique for us. I like hatkora bcz its versatile for me.

Interesting house for sure ,I spotted Amber wood Noir and Hanoki Wood on special so I took a blind buy punt and I was not disappointed 😊.And when you mention designer line ,yes that makes perfect sense Rams,more so the Amber Wood Noir (big fav of my work colleagues) and Hanoki Wood has a noticeable cannabis vibe ,not so designer forward but definitely people friendly cheers buddy still smelling fine and feeling 💯 today no symptoms of covid at all but remaining positive 👍🙏✌️
