Late to the party, but it's so impactful because he's finally getting some karma, even if just a little bit. The singer is desperate for something anything, throughout the song, and right as he's contemplating just giving up ("should I be good this year?"), he's rewarded with this moment of connection. It's small and probably fleeting, but it's _something._ It adds this touch of hope to the otherwise dark ending of the song. And there's nothing more beautiful than hope.

The tiny intrument mice are so precious i almost cried ;o; im blown away by how wonderful this video is. The jack puppet being a different style than all the other ones that are more of a muppet style is such a lovely touch. Because in a way it futher isolates Jack from the world as he is feeling alone when hes talking about where his good karma. I also love the idea of the checklist and the scribble to replace throw away trash to recycle it was a nice touch. Because it shows that he is trying to get extra karma points by recycling and not throwing it away in the trash. And then the little note of thank you for saving the planet (kinda) futher imposes the notion that hes doing it for himself and not to just be good. The ending with the bell mouse staying to listen to him was a nice surpise at the end because i was womdering how the sprial at the end of the song would be handled. also love the little props such as the therapist mouse in a picture frame.
