Thank you for the video! I'm so glad I speak German. But the subtitles are pretty good. They help where I can't quite get the hang of your Swiss accent ;) For some reason, no-one explains how to properly put on the mouthpiece cap. Am I the only person afraid of damaging the instrument's "reed"? Just got mine in today. Kind of curious what settings I will end up going with, because I play both saxophone and flute.

Gutes Tutorial wieder mal. Als nicht-Klarinettist halte ich den neuen Triller-Key für überflüssig. Die 4 Halbton-Keys für die kleinen Finger lösen m.E. jedes Triller-Problen (auch gut nutzbar für chromatische Umspielung eines Tons). Aber das ist - wie du selbst sagst - reine Geschmackssache. Auch den "Bis"-Key braucht man m.E. nicht (wenn man ihn nicht als Saxophonist sowieso beherrscht).

Vielen Dank! 😊 Wenn man sich weniger Keys gewöhnt ist, fehlt einem auch nichts bzw. sind zu viele Tasten vielleicht sogar verwirrend. Weil ich es mir aber von der Klarinette gewohnt bin, habe ich beim EWI 5000 immer mal wieder "in die Luft gegriffen", weil mir diese "Triller-Klappe" gefehlt hat. Das passiert mir beim EWI Solo nicht mehr und mein Ringfinger freut sich, dass er wieder mehr zu tun hat 😊 🎶

Vielen Dank! Das ist doch wieder ein sehr Anschauliches Video. Ich habe mein Instrument seit einem Monat Vorbestellt und mit der Importfirma für Deutschland gemailt. Mit der Aussage "Wir hoffen die nächste Lieferung Ende Januar zu bekommen ". Das vielleicht als Info für alle die auch warten. Interessieren würde mich jetzt noch deine Meinung zu den Sounds. Würdest du sagen das sich da klar was verbessert hat, insbesondere bei den Analogen Instrumenten-Sounds? M.f. G.

Vielen Dank für den Kommentar :-) Für mich sind die Sounds vergleichbar mit den Sounds beim EWI 5000. Beim EWI Solo hast du insgesamt mehr Auswahl, was natürlich die Chance erhöht, dass du einen Sound findest, der dir gefällt, aber dass die einzelnen Sounds verbessert sind im Vergleich zum EWI5000 würde ich nicht sagen.

Besten Dank für die super Erklärungen. Ich nehme an, dass der Fingersatz für Klarinette einstellbar ist. (C linke Hand drei Loch abgedeckt.) Kommt im Video nicht ganz klar heraus, da das C dort immer unten ist. Danke für die Antwort.

I've been playing my EWI Solo for a few years, but today anew problem arose, perhaps resulting from my plunging it into a computer. The EWI Solo FORGETS my setting of Breath Sensitivity (and perhaps other settings as well). When I switch the EWI off and on again, I find that Breath Sensitivity has been set very low and I have to raise it again. Then next time I want to play, I find it has reset low again. This is a new problem. How can I make it remember my Setting? Many thanks.

Nach so vielen Tests von elektronischen Windinstrumenten, hat sich eines zu Deinem Favoriten entwickelt? Sammelst Du all die Instrumente oder verkaufst Du sie wieder? Danke für die informativen Präsentationen.

Bisher hat sich für mich noch kein klarer Favorit herauskristallisiert, weil alle Blaswandler, die ich bisher ausprobiert habe, ihre Stärken und Schwächen haben. Aktuell würde ich aber sagen, meine Top 3 sind das Aerophone AE-10 (gut spielbar, gute Sounds), das Yamaha YDS-150 (aktuell beste "Saxofonmechanik", sofern man das möchte) und das EWI Solo (viele Sounds, einfacher zu spielen als die älteren Akai-Modelle, aus meiner Sicht bester Biss-/Blas-Sensor). Ich habe bisher alle Instrumente behalten und nicht wieder verkauft. Ich zähle mich also zu den Sammlern :-)

Hallo, ich habe eine Frage, wenn Sie wählen müssen zwischen EWI solo und EWI 5000, was ist besser? Ich spiele tenor Saxophon und interessiere mich für ein wind instrument aber ich habe keine Ahnung was zu kaufen: EWI solo (braucht keine Speaker) entweder EWI 5000 oder Aerophone AE (05 zum beispiel )? Vielen Dank für die Frage. Ich persönlich mag das EWI Solo lieber als das EWI 5000. Das EWI Solo ist meiner Meinung nach einfacher zu konfigurieren und einfacher zu spielen als das EWI 5000. Die "Mechanik" ist aber fast gleich (berührungsempfindliche Tasten, Oktavrollen) und das Mundstück ist identisch. Das Aerophone AE-05 besitze ich zwar nicht, würde aber eindeutig ein EWI (Solo/5000) und nicht ein AE-05 empfehlen. (Aber besser als die EWIs ist nach meiner Ansicht das Aerophone AE-30/Pro)

Great video tutorial. It helped me understand many things i was curious about. I've decided to buy that instrument. Please add also a video on how it works with mini jack output and input as also how it works on midi mode. One question though. 1) I want to connect my earphones to the output and listen to myself what i play but also i want to connect to the input a player (for example my computer)who will play a background music. Will i be able to listen both background music and what i play to my earphones? Thanks for sharing.

Thank you very much for your comment. I am glad if the video could clarify some questions. Regarding the audio input to the EWI Solo: Yes, it works. You can use the aux input to stream a backing track from your computer or other device to the EWI Solo. Connect a 1/8" (3.5mm) TRS cable from the output of the audio device to the Aux input of the EWI. The signal will be routed to the headphones or speakers, depending on which output is used. You will then hear the backing track and what you are playing on the EWI on your headphones. Note: The audio signal from the Aux input is not routed to the Line output.

Ich meine, kann man die Batterie selbst ersetzen wenn sie Kaput ist oder muss das von einem Profi gemacht werden ? Diese Information habe ich niergendwo gefunden. Vielen Dank für die Frage. Die Batterie beim EWI Solo ist leider keine Standard-Batterie. Das EWI Solo hat eine wiederaufladbare Lithium-Batterie, die du über ein USB-Kabel aufladen kannst. Akai professional sagt, dass diese Batterie viele Jahre funktioniert. Falls sich die Batterie irgendwann nicht mehr aufladen lässt und ausgetauscht werden muss, dann musst du dich an den Support von Akai professional wenden. Du kannst also keine neue Batterie in einem Shop kaufen, sondern musst die Batterie bei Akai bestellen. Ich musste die Batterie beim EWI Solo und auch bei meinem alten EWI5000 bisher aber noch nie wechseln.

@@zenarobinson3851 Mine absolutely would not shut down. There was a section in the owners manual describing for how the owner can replace the battery if it fails. That procedure described the removal of the failed battery and the installation of the new battery. From that, I reasoned that removing and reinstalling the battery was within reasonable user activity. It cured my problem. Hopefully, you will not encounter this situation. Best wishes. Play on!

Hopeless sounds (in the age of physical color modeling, wading into sampling makes less and less sense). The built-in loudspeaker is only suitable for fun. The 6.5mm jack output is mono instead of stereo. Fingering is only a decima (and only an octave for flute fingering), which limits the music and forces unnecessary and irritating excessive use of octave rolls. Approx. 30 years ago YAMAHA released the WX-5 wind driver, which with a dedicated VL-70m sound module (with physical sound modeling) is for me an example of how wind instruments should be made to this day. Someone who does not compare to the above-mentioned Yamaha model, will not understand that AKAI EWI SOLO is just crap for a child's play.

Well, if you do not speak German (west european language), KZbin does show video description and video title not in German but in English and there are also English subtitles available, so you can understand the video even if I do not speak English in the video.
