Thanks for the video. To be honest bro samping on the MPC 2500 or 1000 is way faster than the newer MPC's. I guess that's why Pete Rock, Dr.Dre, DJ Premier etc.... still use the older machines. Very efficient & less time pushing buttons an menu diving. It's gets in the way of the funk.

Hey Ave, those Q-link grey boxes suck… I wasn’t sure if you knew an avenue for a recommendation to Akai for a change? I think the thing they did with the banks showing up on the bottom of the screen is awesome how it’s semitransparent, I think Akai should do the same for the Qs’! They could still show the round button and it wouldn’t be so in the way when chopping samples! I don’t see anyone having a problem with a change like that, what’s your thoughts? Also thanks a lot for the time stretching tip you just made all my time stretched beats sound 100% better and gave me more flexibility thanks 🙏🏻

Live is much better. You can look videos of the two verses each other here on KZbin. And the videos might have the Live 1. But it's the same EXACT software... Akai will always be the king of sampling. And there are a lot of extra features you will learn as you go.. and with each update it gets better and better. It's literally a complete studio in a box. Sending Peace and mad love from NY ✊🏽🕶️💜

@@mackmccord3743 Ah that's great, bro! yeah I'm hoping to luck out and find some _gold_ on that drive lol.. I like working with samples (esp. Percussion) but don't really sample sht myself very often, so it'd be cool to have that library there from "go" Broke my finger badly a few years back at work and lost a lot of articulation at the middle knuckle, so I can't play guitar anymore, after playing basically daily for 18yrs (self taught) - these Groovebox's have really made me reconsider how I can still make music for fun.. what a time to be here, man.. when we were younger, consumer tech like this would've been unimaginable.. now we're here all love to the Big Apple, from London UK - best of luck on your journey, my guy Hope you enjoy your new machine 👍🏻 NYLON forever ❤🇬🇧🇺🇸❤

@@unbearifiedbear1885 yes how the times have changed. Eye hope that can someday get the finger going again. Muscle memory and cell repair is real. You know copper lined gloves. All that! So Eye'm a lil weird about samples. Eye have a lot of synth great and hardware and over 1000 vinyl records. But Eye only sample myself into the MPC and chop it and make music like that. Not really big into sampling other people's music. Not against it. Eye just don't like the fact that a lot of my funk and RnB superheroes are still alive and some of them are struggling with no money, while producers sample their music and make thousands or millions off of their creations... And most attempt to change the sample so much that is unrecognized... That's trash to me. Those older artists went to school and or studied their craft. Just for someone to come 20-60 years later and get rich.... Especially when these superheroes that Eye speak of didn't sample at all... They may have copied Eyedeas. But they actually played it themselves and interpreted it in their own way with their own musicality... Eye can do the same. Even if it takes me longer... And if Eye ever do sample someone, in the far future, Eye guarantee you, if that artist is still around, they will be in the videos, if Eye perform in their city, Eye will personally invite them to be on stage with me and get money... But Eye was built different and Eye always take the longer harder path. You NJoy those new gifts. Can't wait to get mine. (My MPC Live stopped charging about a month ago. Had it since 2017. And still have figured out what's wrong with it yet.) Eye'm sending you and your family mad love from Yonkers NY 💜💜 🇬🇧NYLON🇺🇸💜💜 💜💜🇺🇸NYLON🇬🇧💜💜 EYE LOVE IT!

Great Video! Question; is there any way to do synced live sampling/resampling? I've been trying to use the looper paired with a drum group that has premade midi, then exporting the looper to that drum group etc... But, it's a bit clumsy. Do you have a better suggestion? I'm really hoping Akai improves the looper (similar to a real hardware looper, at least offering synced "Stop") or even better would be recording into Clips similar to Ableton.
