Nice tips! Waiting for my MPC 1000 with JJOS. Tried the MPC One 2 times but didn' t like the computer like workflow. Hopefully the less is more aspect of the 1000 does is for me ❤️👌

Thanks! That's really clever, assigning "snipets" of audio to different pads, then playing those midi notes to assemble or edit the audio back together the way you want it.

I’ve never tried that reverse technique. Pretty awesome. I usually leave artifacts in there unless it’s low frequency hits. You know how a painter sometimes will leave a bit of the underpainting showing, or accidental paint drips?

Its the same technique. Mark region and delete it. cant remember if the XL could loop rewind. But i think yes.

When chopping samples do you use the "create new program with new samples" or pad parameters

You can use pad pad parameters or new drum program non destructive is what your looking for.

I use this technique every time. I learned this back in the early 90’s when I wasn’t even making sample based production.

That first technique generally doesn't work out for me very well due to the bit of the sample that's cut with the snare/kick and never tried the second, I've stuck to beatmatching (by ear) and using a similar sounding snare/clap/kick ;but it's super limiting when it comes to usable samples.

Nice! It offers more possibilities to use pretty cool samples with drums on there. Is it possible to use those technics on the MPC500? Especially the first, combining two parts after a cut? Thanks for sharing, keep it up

dope technique. sometimes i just keep the chops as they are w the drums in em, bc it can lead to cool polyrhythms when you compliment everything in the sample with your own drums
