Amazing. Liked, favorited, stumbled up, subscribed. THANKS. These mpd26 units were hot sellers last December when Amazon slashed the prices. There are a ton of people that got them - like me - who were new to midi controllers and were at an absolute loss.

I hope you know your reviews are the ONLY ONES ON THE INTERNET that actually walk through all of the features on this device. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Do you have any plans to cover the included Vyzex MPD26 software?

Yes you can, am covering it as we speak on my mpd tutorial video of all controls in details. Hopefully I'll have it up tonight or later this week as it's long. But in short...1. Press the edit button. 2.Press Time Division it will display on lcd. 3.Press enter knob. 4.turn the knob and select 1/4 - 1/32t 5. once done press enter to save and done. Now you can apply this to also the Tap Tempo and Note Repeat.

Yes you can set the pads to continuously play a sound by press once to activate and press again to stop the playback. Press the "Edit" button, select a pad and the lcd should display for example "Set P1 / Note". Than you press the enter knob, you should see for example "note 036" flashing. Now next to that you see "MTY", you have to change that to "TGL" which will allow you to make the pad toggle by pressing a pad and by pressing the pad again to stop. "MTY" is to hit the pad a play and stop.

Hey man, great review. Would you happen to know if the Bank A B C D buttons can send midi CC messages? Everything else seems able to... thanks!
@EliasGadgets12 жыл бұрын
Yes that is correct if your going to be using software like fl studio or others. The provided Vyzex program that comes with the mpd will aid in that task.

Hi! I really liked 26's pads & bought it! even didnt know about such incredible onboard functionality :) Thanks for good video, i'll try to set it up to my ableton ( couldnt do it yet !!! :(((

Yes 100% worth saving that extra for the 26 instead because the 18 in general will be too easy to learn and pick up, you'll will find at a later time the extra the 26 has would have lasted you longer and bring you up near an advance level.

I was wondering if there is a way to make so that when ever you have the note repeat button activated the corresponding LCD screen will already be on the time division page so I can rotate the wheel and change the time division in real time rather than having to hold down the TD button. Thanks ahead of time!

As far as setting an external tempo, is there a link setting in most DAWs to link the tempo of the track to the MPD? Thanks for the videos man.

I have a question.. (It's an AKAI MPD related question though) Today I bought an AKAI MPD 26 Brand New and when I opened it up it only displays the message: "UPGRADE No Firmware" and I cannot navigate to other settings.. How do I Fix this? I read in some websites that it's risky to install or update a firmware on your own.. Thank you!

How do I program the DAW to work with the mpd if the DAW isn’t one of the options displayed already
@EliasGadgets12 жыл бұрын
Pro Tools version 7-8-9 has a few issues where there really isn't a straight forward preset with any MPD's. The MPD's or Akai will need to update the firmware,however you could use the vyzex program to edit the controller but that can be a bit complex.

Not really, the MPD 24/26 are when one would feels they are on the intermediate - professional level. I would recommend the MPD 18 for beginners where there isn't much controls and features to confuse you and keeps your music creation to a minimal level. The mpd 18 is below the 100 price tag and plus you get the pads,3 banks of sounds,note repeat and 16 presets.
