Thank you so much for this making this video! Key just snapped off my MPK mk ii today, and after watching your careful process, I was able to fix the key darn -near perfectly and even support some other sagging keys as well! Just needed super glue and patience. Surprised me how simple this thing is on the inside once you crack it open!

To this I would recommend, try a Bondic pen, which uses a polymer and an ultraviolet light to form a plastic bond instead of super glue. Probably still not a permanent fix, but should last longer.

I just fixed my son’s last week with the JB Weld UV Weld, it worked great.

I used epoxy and it worked well. I will look into this pen though for this type of detailed work. Thanks for the tip.

My poor akai thanks for the advice. I had 3 keys fault so far. I didn't do the most amazing job but i was able to fix it. Thank you Greg

I've always disliked the feel of playing this keyboard... If i I known before buying that the keys on the keyboard were molded in one piece of plastiс. I wouldn't have bought akai mpk mini. Thank you for the video. it's a pity that a lot of people are faced with keyboard repair.

Hello -Can anyone help me please? 🎹The white keys on my mpk mini are kind of stiff. Especially the mid section. It plays notes, but its noticeably harder to press the middle section than the other sections of keys. What would you recommend I do to make the springs less stiff -(assuming that the springs are the issue) There isnt anything about this issue on the web that i can find. 🙏 thank you

Just happen to me right now. Akai MPK mini 2. When i saw how bad the parts are I was like, WhatACrapToy.... Exactly after practicing daily for 180 days in Melodics. So, I have now 24h to fix it, to not lose the streaks. I think I'm gone try to fix it but gone start to look for a better build keyboard. Its gone scare me now touching this keys after knowing the bad build quality. I buy it last year 13 of February.

He visto que hay unos repuestos de acordeones en tiendas del ramo que mi abuelo usaba para reparar este tipo de instrumentos, por más nunca compres teclados con este sistema plástico de unión , ejemplo los yamaha, se rompe en poco tiempo, el UMX de Behringer tiene un excelente teclado con los que venian en los korg

Now I can explain why these keys break, they are identical to the ones found on the cheapest keyboards, I mean they are joined by plastic and do not have a shaft like those of korg, in the yamaha psr series keyboard they used that type and they broke, a disappointment this Akay, the behringer umx has a much better quality keyboard

Those keys are designed to break like a Gundam kit, worst key design ever. Arturia minilab has separate keys with its own screws and springs.
