I've watched a dozen videos about the Mini Play, to decide if I wanted to buy ... yours is light years better. You know how to communicate and what the viewer may want. Other reviewers are mostly in their own heads. Thank you!

One important thing that wasn’t mentioned is the ability to run an audio line out to a speaker using the Play, where the regular mini requires a usb->PC. You can simply run an audio cable from the headphone jack to an external speaker and you’ve got instant live sound. For live performing, I run an audio cable from the headphone jack -> looper pedal -> speaker to be able to create live drum/key/instrument loops on the fly. You can’t do that without a laptop on the regular mini.

I'm just starting out with DAW and midi. The last time I did any recording it was on a 4 track cassette recorder . . yeah, shows my age. I really appreciate your straight-forward approach to your review/recommendation. While I kind of want the mini so that I don't have to rely on my MacBook and DAW for sounds and can just play around, I'm always looking toward the next step (progressing in my musicality) and am leaning towards the MK3 just for all of the knobs and options as you mentioned. Sounds like either one is a great place to begin.

Can we add any other tones and drum sounds additional to that given in mpk mini play?(for live performance without computer)
@GoodVibeMaster Жыл бұрын
I plan to get the play mk 3 because I’m new to this. My question that I hope gets answered is, if I get this tech, what can I get to plug in to the play mk 3? A looper? Or some other tech? What do the additional tech do? I plan on using my iPhone to record at first but I also plan on moving to an iPad mini when I can afford that, iPad os with a MiDi keyboard should be a beginner mindset right? It’d be a start to work from my phone but I’m interested in learning finger drumming and recording

Is automapping available for Play? I have just started using it and I do not see Prog Button to sync with Ableton?
@norakat8 ай бұрын
That would be great if the Play had a simple scratch sequencer, but then it would have to be multi-timbral too.

Nice, can I connect the mini play directly to a guitar amp? Does it have instrument inputs?
@UPdan2 жыл бұрын
I just emailed Sweetwater with that question since nobody seems to know on KZbin. I would think a 1/8 from headphone jack to amplifier 1/4 input would work, keeping the volume down on the AKAI as you turned on the amplifier. I've seen people connecting to small speaker and someone looks like he used a Boss amplifier but he doesn't answer on KZbin either.
@falklandss2 жыл бұрын
@@UPdan yeah I think so too, i did that with a behringer TD-3 and it works fine, I can even chain guitar pedal effects on it. This companies are missing out on lots of potential buyers because of instruments to difficult to manipulate for the average or amateur musician 🤔

You said the Akai MPK mini play is a keyboard beginners can grow with. Does that also apply to the Akai MPK mini, as well?

Hey Autumn,I love the video I want to buy the Akai Mpk mini soon 2 questions Does it have the transpose feature? How much does it cost Thank you 💙
@AutumnGardMusic2 жыл бұрын
Hello! It has a feature that allows you to change octaves on the keyboard. As far as transposing, goes, that’s something I would do in my daw (ableton). And I believe the play will be a bit pricier than the regular akai mpk mini mk3. Hope this helps!
