I'm so glad they did this collab. I stopped using Maschine for the MPC workflow a while ago, but loved some of the expansion sounds. When I saw them on NI's website, I copped err last one of dem bad boys and I'm not ashamed!

I love that the two companies have come together! I have a live 2 and a Maschine mk3. I like the live 2 much better because it’s stand alone and it’s easier for me to understand. This is true but we lose all the plugins that are included in the expansion pack, which looses the feeling and intention of the packs sonics.

Unless your out in a field somewhere with no laptop you c access the entire NI library using usual midi in and out routing in standalone or go controller mode and load Komplete inside the mpc etc. This seems great for new users but for everyone else who already has a large NI library..... I'm not sold. Maybe for the standalone warriors who refuse to connect even by midi to a computer - and akai know we have alot of those in the community. Yet all of Andy Mac vids show him midi in/out into Logic

@@Sarah2ill These new MPC packs have some nice looking NKS instruments, and you are right Kit Maker only converts the drum kits. But there’s only going to be a few MPC Expansions available to start with. And a lot of users already have a ton of existing Maschine Expansions that can all be converted to MPC kits with Kit Maker😎 But for sure , the new instrument functionality does look nice. There are probably a few expansions worth repurchasing again just for the MPC instruments 🎹

Exciting, but still no word on the MPC3 VST aka Controller Mode and daw integration? I was expecting it to come out as soon as MPC3 went out of beta. Ableton Live VST integration is an essential part of our workflow with the MPC. 🤔🙏

That would be huge news given that this basically means the 8-plugin limit-per-project, in-DAW mixing (without audio stem export) is no longer possible. Many producers leverage these features daily. I'm really surprised no one in the producer community is talking about this.

@@Sarah2ill Yeah I hear you. I'm surprised no one is talking about it. Andy Mac even recognized the huge producer community in the announcements yesterday. He should know that pushing the MPC hardware with 4-5 synth plugins immediately makes the hardware audio stutter and bug out. Controller Mode isn't just a nice to have, it's essential to finish the production. 😥

Nice and how about Maschine...RIP maschine I guess. Ah no worries, but turning Maschine Packs into MPC packs can be done with a piece of software. But does this mean I have to buy my packs double or can I download the MPC packs for the packs I have NI packs. Because then I use my MPC as a controller for the 2.15 software. And integrate Maschine a an VST in that.

RIP Maschine. Too soon. The play series and expansion are tailored for the MPC. It’s a separate purchase. You COULD use kit maker but it removes all the plugins from the expansion packs, defining the purpose of having NI EXPANSIONS. ONLY FOR 3.0

Hey Sarah, There's no need to purchase the native instruments expansions if you already owned them in the past. I just uploaded a video showing how to get those same expansions in your Akai hardware for FREE...

Thanks fam! A lot of us are familiar with using kit maker. This does remove the plugins on the sounds which makes the expansion packs unique. It’s just samples and not an expansion pack as intended. Plus, if you buy GTA on PlayStation, and you end up buying an X box, you have to rebuy the game for that particular console. This applies to Akia and Maschine.

@@Sarah2ill the expansions only makes use of the Keygroups which we make using the expansion builder software that comes with akai MPC software. The expansions are not plugins. The play Series are the plug ins

@ NI expansion pack DOES put pre designed presets on the individual sounds which can be customized using the plugins parameters so you can modify the sound to your liking. It’s not just a group of one shots. Go to the FX tab on each sound.

Resolving MIDI Issues with AKAI MPC ONE PLUS and External Synthesizers After OS Update Greetings from Spain, After updating my AKAI MPC ONE PLUS to the MPC 3 operating system, I encountered MIDI issues. For the Cobalt 8X, the solution was to delete and recreate the problematic MIDI track, as the instruments changed when PLAY was activated. With the Nord Wave 2, while preset selection via MIDI is respected, the volume resets to the original at each song start from the AKAI. Devices like the Waldorf Streichfett and two Arturia controllers only needed channel reconfiguration. Once reconfigured and saved, the system creates a copy of the file ending in "_Import". Sharing this to assist anyone facing similar issues.

I don't like AKAI's policy, it's just marketing. MPC3 is not finished and to attract the consumer with NI expansions,... I'll stick with 2.15.1 and I suppose in a couple of years MPC3 will be ready,... I'm not convinced by attracting with NATIVE ..... NO THX

What policy? MPC 3.4.1 is out! Native Instruments ALSO partnered with Novation, Korg, M- Audio, AND Nektar. It just happens that NI is spreading their software to multiple brands and 3.0 is out the same day. Enjoy the update!

Oh yeah, did you catch the “capture” feature in each instrument? You can customize the FX parameters, 4 times, in one instrument! So you can automate your own custom sounds. They don’t have this in the original play series!!! This is new! Spend some time with it. It’s only been out for idk, 5 hours!!!!!! 😅 come on fam.

The MPC midi keyboards will have Nks integrated meaning it will work with Kontakt. MPC is also not a DAW like Ableton. We will never get rid of Ableton
