This was GOLDEN! The way he 'jacked the groove' w/ his own drums is a real GEM! I'll have to watch this a few more times to really get what he did. It looks like he got the drum stems from the sample, copied it, duped it, moved the drum elements to pads 1-3, then I guess he took one of the drum programs and replaced the stemmed out drum sounds w/ his own. Man, so ill! Salute to Ski Beatz...it's been a minute since I've participated in one of his Smack Pack challenges. Oh, if anyone is looking for some dope bass sounds for the MPC, Ski Beatz put out a P-Bass MPC expansion - its my absolute go-to for dope bass sounds. Peace, and salute to everybody in the MPC gang who waited patiently for standalone stems!!!
@Dispatcher8134 ай бұрын
I know that was golden. Only thing I hate is we cant see the whole process and those stem out drums sound wayyyyyy better than what Ive been getting. I guess i have to use better samples with Louder drums

I figured it out. One you duplicate the loop, bounce the program as a sample. Go to your sample edit and chop the loop. You then go back to the sequence and replace the loop with the chopped sample. You then replace the chopped program with your own drums. Took me a few hours to figure it out.
@trs86964 ай бұрын
His replacement drum tones were a bit rough but you could see how that could be awesome. I'd love to take the tones of one classic loop and map them onto the groove of another... Do like an "amen-Apache" loop. That could be sick.

The key to it all is when he said ‘layered’. You can stack day, 3 more kicks on top of your original that may be on pad 1. If assign them as layers then pad 1 triggers then at the same time.
