Aight hows this,.....Kendrick Lamar is apparently entering that hole that Nas had been in for a looong-long time to begin to get recognized as how we like to see him as...*A rapper that's dope and the beat was dope*. Kendrick Lamar is already that rapper that people respect before they can even *VIBE* with the lyrics. I've been in conversations where people say Kendrick Lamar's verse on *Really Doe* was the one, i'm like prove it......(awkward) as a counter I can most-def *demonstrate or better yet orchestrate* to you how much I enjoyed Ab-Souls verse on that one. I feel like this is the generation where IMDB-to-a-song ratio determines what's so-called good, hence *Genius* rating to us what's good. No diss to Genius, it's just people like to go to sources as their own word-of-mouth answers, it's HELLA WEIRD!!!! -- *REAL TALK*. Have original thought every now and then will YAH!

These are the types of conversation and comments I want to read/be involved in on KZbin! People having a mutual discussion and people who know what the art of rap and meaning in music. Nas is well he's Nas, goat of rap it's very much likely but Damien, man came good on that entire album, As we enter - Damien's flow! Don had that fire game going. I admit, loved Damien's fathers work (who doesn't) but I've slept on Damien (not anymore, I vibe with his music regularly now) but before this album I didn't know much of him. Man, as an artist Damien is the full package, singing is there he is a dope mc, he brings content that people NEED to hear. But because both Nas and Damien don't talk about money ho's and rims they are slept on and ignored.

Nas is the Greatest Emcee of all time, but jr gong got him. Damian Marley is a better all round musician than any pure emcee and that is fine. I saw it for myself watching them performing live in Trinidad in 2011. Damian never misses a word, perfect diction and sounds like studio quality live. As for the album, nas was excellent, but that is expected. Gong was a little better and that is what truly made the album great. He kept up to the a standard we expected from Nas.

I've been saying the same thing for years... Damian is an all round Don. He showed this back on Khaki Suit when he smashed the old school 80's Jamaican DJ'ing style, and later showed the same versatility with Nas Patience is one example, and among other tracks, he absolutely killed "Nah Mean"! The way he rode on that track was crazy. I come from a reggae origin, but fell in love with hip hop in my mid teens, Nas is my boy... But when Damian is ready, he murders most artists out there! it's not to say Nas doesn't, but can he cross over and kill a reggae track, the way Damian crossed over and did?! we've seen that the answer is 'no'!

Vlad, you should interview Akala again. He has a great book out which talks about Britain and its empire's influences on the situation today in the UK. It's called Natives : Race and class in the ruins of empire. I recommend highly. It's been a while since the last time you spoke to him and I think he is a great speaker.

While yes Damien killed it on this album it suited Damien’s style more but both knocked it put the park and elevated each other!! It’s a spiritual deep meaning album A true concept album and artistic masterpiece which is rare these days!! It’s brilliant!!!
