I hate the Empire for destroying the bond between these two sisters. They ripped them apart, into an eternal blood soaked division that neither would ever be able to cross. Killing each other was the only way they could find peace within themselves, a way to remember and cherish the memories and existence of the other half. It was the only way to solve this problem, since they couldn't go back to their relationship before. And besides Kurome was already dying because of the strenuous drugs and experiments her body had to undergo to reach a fraction of Akame's natural power, since she was the weaker one. I dont think I either could stand the idea of having their beloved family dying on them because of the Empire. Now Kurome and Akame can both rest in peace.

Well, Kurome actually lives in the manga, breaking her sword helped. She went off with Wave while the angel guy dies, he was actually one of her last puppets.
