We're back!
I had the pleasure of reading the KonoSuba LNs last spring when the anime finished, and I've been up to date ever since. Kinda' bummed, since we're nearing the end of the series, but it's been a great ride.

It honestly surprised me to see a canon ship in a series like this. Not that I'm complaining. Aqua and everyone else are pretty cool though.
Expect one or two more songs from this series in the future. This cover's been done for like half a year, but I held off on releasing it because of Kimi no Na wa.
Anyway, you should definitely check out KonoSuba! Start with the anime (Episode 1 is weirdly hard to get through because of the pacing, but the next 21 eps are fantastic) and you can go off the books from there. Recommend reading over the parts you watched too; there's some fun stuff you might've missed.

He has girls who outright lust after him. He became a respected hero. This world is Kazuma's greatest blessing and he KNOWS IT.

I just realized the song applies very well to all four protagonists. Kazuma was forced to leave his home by his untimely death, Aqua´s main goal is to return to her home, Megumin still misses the Crimson demon village, but she refuses to return until she becomes famous, and Lalatina (hehe) left her home to satisfy her desire for adventure (and punishment, mostly punishment) despite her home being objectively a better place to live in.

I contest that claim that Megumin is a chuunibyou. The defining characteristic of a chuuni is that they are delusional, claiming that they have supernatural powers that don't exist. Megumin clearly has the ability to summon massive explosions, the power she claims to own. This disqualifies her from being a chuuni, in the same way someone isn't paranoid for displaying paranoid behavior if someone really is out to get them. Otherwise, chuuni isn't describing anything about Megumin herself, and is instead describing the (potentially false) perceptions of the people observing her.

I'm a student at Southern Oregon University, and I'm on my own for the first time...ever, really. Especially with the Covid-19, I've never felt further away from my parents, and this song made me realize that. When I listened to it the first time, I merely enjoyed the music, as well as the voice behind it (Akane Sasu Sora's got some serious pipes). Beyond that, I didn't think too much about it, until I pulled it up a day or two later (today). This time, I actually really listened to the lyrics, about the smell of homecooked meals and the familiarity of home. For some reason, the phrase "I wanna go home" hit me harder this time, but I ignored it. Maybe I was just hungry or something. But as the song went on, I started thinking about the dinners my dad would cook. I started thinking about sitting down in the evening to watch Bob's Burgers with my mom. I thought about playing MTG with my dad, and running up the stairs to see the new Marvel movie trailer he had pulled up on youtube. Before I knew it, it was all I could think about, ingrained memories of my hometown and my family intermingled with the sound of the acoustic guitar. Before long, I realized I suddenly couldn't see, and that was because I was crying. I was crying because I desperetly wanna go home. I wanna go home, and hug my parents. I wanna eat my dad's dinners, and watch tv with my mom. I wanna sit around in the living room all day, talking about nothing with them. I wanna go home. Right after I post this, I'm going to get on the horn with my dad, and see to buying a plane ticket for this coming weekend. This song made me realize how badly I need to see them. This song made me realize I need to be a kid one more time, just for a weekend. And that's exactly what I'm going to do.

Hey there, I totally get how you feel. I am an international student in UK, here to do my undergraduate degree. This was my first time living by myself, that too so far away from home. And due to this COVID-19 situation, my country closed borders on a two-day notice and I couldn't go back. Now it's been nearly 9 months since I was last home. Lately, I just feel like I don't wanna be an adult just yet.. that I want to spend more time with my family - just the way it was before I started college. Thankfully, though normal flights haven't resumed yet, my country is running evacuation flights and I got a ticket for one of them. And though this is probably gonna be the worst flight experience I'll ever have, I'm really happy that I'll finally get to be with my parents and little brother again. Okay here's what happened way back then, I went for the interview, I was put on a probational period where I needed to get stuff for the trial. I got a call from the boss and they said they found someone better. update #2: Holy shit why is this still getting likes?! I was sleep deprived when I wrote this 3 years ago. Update #3: 1 1/2 to 2 or so years later, my mum passed away due to medical complications, but I remember her liking this song, so I sung this song to hear during her final moments, she liked it and she passed away later that night.

I always liked this song, but hearing what the lyrics actually mean gives me a new appreciation for it. It really speaks to one of the core themes of the series; For as much as the main four argue, fight, and make fun of each other, at the end of the day, they're all really good friends, and they usually reconcile pretty quick if any actual serious fight breaks out. It's actually one of the most realistic portrayals of friendship I've ever seen in fiction.

There’s a short story in the light novel where Kazuma swaps with a guy from another party for a day. The guy came running back to his old party begging to be let back in. Kazuma didn’t want to leave them, and they were happy to have him stay.

I’ve listened to this song 10 time in the span of 16 hours and I picked up something at first I thought it was kazuma complaining about how he wants to go back to Japan but after listening closer to the lyrics what I hear is that kazuma annoyed and pissed off at his party leaves for the day to sulk and complain about his new life but as he sees the crying child he realizes he is acting exactly like that child and by the end of the song he realizes that he misses his party and knows that this is his new home now and the final “I wanna go home” isn’t him complaining about wanting to go back to Japan like the other times but is him saying I wanna go home to Aqua Megumin and Darkness finally excepting that he has a new home and enjoys it.

This is actually pretty wholesome. Originally it's sung by the Girls in Kazuma's party. So basically it's them arguing with Kazuma, leaving the mansion. And eventually coming back like a kid who threw a temper tantrum eventually going back to their mom.
