This was the best time for AKB48, the first 5 generations was great... Takamina, Yuko, Acchan, Mayuyu, KojiHaru, Mii-chan, The Twin Towers (Sae/Sayaka), Mariko, Mochi, Itano, etc. Only Minegeshi and Kojima remain from Generation 1 but Kojima will graduate in February 2017.

Jeongyeon Need More Lines! The one with long brown hair is Itano Tomomi, at the time known as the fashion leader of the group because she was the best dressed. The two girls is Maeda Atsuko (aka "Acchan") and Oshima Yuko. Acchan is on the left and during her career with AKB48, she was the most popular member of the group, having appeared as center for the most songs (she holds the record). Oshima Yuko was the second most popular member of the group. Both have graduated now and are no longer in the group.

Jeongyeon Need More Lines! Even though they've graduated, sometimes they come back for other members' graduation concerts so if you look up videos of AKB48 graduation concerts, you might see them. A good example of this is Takahashi Minami's (aka "Takamina") graduation. She was considered the third most popular member of the group behind Maeda Atsuko and Oshima Yuko and was made Soukantoku (General Manager) of the group. When she graduated, all the graduated members such as Itano Tomomi, Maeda Atsuko, Oshima Yuko, Shinoda Mariko came back and performed at her graduation concert. Another good live AKB48 concert to watch is "1830m". It was the group's first concert at the Tokyo Dome and Maeda Atsuko performed her graduation song with some of the more well known early generation AKB girls such as Oshima Yuko, Takamina, Itano, Watanabe Mayu, Shinoda Mariko, Minegishi Minami, Kojima Haruna, Kashwagi Yuki and Matsui Jurina.

I've a feeling they will get the original members to come back, at least the aces everyone knows that we see here front and center. It's a huge opportunity and honor, and the ladies are still very young, so they could pull this off easily. NO ONE would pass up a chance to perform at the Olympics, unless they were physically unable to, or just weren't into performing anymore. Given the fact that so many of them came back for Kimi wa Melody, I've no doubt in my mind they'd come back for this- and fans past and present would ALL turn out. Don't give up hope- hell, even though some members said they'd never return, remember that they got EVERY SPICE GIRL on that stage when the Olympics went to London. Considering that all the popular girls that graduated left on good terms, I think it's safe to be hopeful that they would return for such a performance.

Try not to worry about it. Most people just come to watch the girl's videos, not argue about who's better; they're all very good. After all, if it weren't for finding SNSD by mistake, I would have never have found AKB48! finding one group leads to another, and I'm so glad that it does, I've found so much wonderful music from Asia that I never knew existed.
