I would love to see this one trade places with the Mackinaw on the Great Lakes for a winter.

I would like to see something similar to these Finnish breakers on the Great Lakes as well. Unfortunately I don't think these ships could physically get into the lakes because their beams are 82 feet wide. Wouldn't fit through the seaway locks. But it'd be cool to have one constructed in similar design. Instead of that ridiculous bouy tender design

@scottburns2600 75 ft to get up the St Lawrence Seaway. Still, it would be interesting. The "Mini Mac" (compared to the original Mackinaw) is still a very capable ship, but one of these would be much more interesting. In reality, there is only a month or so in most years where heavy icebreaking is needed because the upper lakes close mid January through March, so the dual purpose design does make sense. Not every year is like 2014.

Transas was good but warsila is shit. Good skillful master should be able to moor the vessel without tablet.
