I've been gaming since the 1970s. I've played them all. During that time i've had so many likes and no likes of games. Not one game has ever taken me in so much than Guild Wars. The atmosphere, the music, the graphcs (in the day), the simplicity, the story, the teamwork...it has it all. One of the best games and community i've ever played.

The Prophecies and Factions soundtrack is very special to me. It was the soundtrack to a game that provided much comfort to me, and takes me to a place of warmth and safety. Playing Guild Wars and forgetting about all my problems while exploring a beautiful world and having a blast while doing it. The nostalgia is painful but great.

Same here. My first GW experience was with Factions. I remember once I completed the tutorial and loaded into Shing Jea Monastery, I was overcome with all sorts of feelings. I'm pretty sure the Ritualist Theme was playing. And back then, GW was probably at its peak in activity, so I had so much lag because of the sheer number of players running around, but it was fucking wonderful. I really miss those times, and in my adult life I never really come close to feeling those feelings, but at least this music gives me a chance to remember it! @@Dubloh

Winter's day in old ascalon, the first time you hit presearing not realising the scale of the world that's coming, first time reaching yak's bend and leaving the desolation behind. The community of Piken square and feeling badass after completing your first mission. Guild wars 1 had all the community youd want in any MMO and it's a shame it's no longer there. Hope you guys are still getting the nostalgia kick I'm getting. Swearing at each other for messing up the trials in the crystal desert, meeting glint for the first time and some badass tried to kill her only to realise you're woefully underprepared. Having to repeat the doppleganger quest repeatedly. First time in Shing Jea monastery or deciding between Kurzick and Luxon and what that meant for your guild and possible alliances. The sense of camaraderie in Alliance Battles. Hitting Kamadan and growing up with the stories as they got progressively darker, people turning into demons or Kormir losing her eyes. I grew up with this game and being able to revisit those years through music is something very personal but also shared with everyone who played the game.

@Kieran Osborne when I hit a dark place in life I always come back to the music of guild wars to remember the times I was careless and my biggest issue was getting enough fur squares to make my droks armour sets. It reminds me to not take life so seriously and just enjoy it.

I didnt care to level through the game. I let my imagination rip in those starter areas. I still have dreams about this game even though i’ve moved onto other pc genres and titles.

When this game came out I was like 3 and my dad used to rock me with his leg when playing it. He got me into Guild wars 2 when I got older and him and I both found out about the title God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals and how it carries over to Gw2 and we both decided to go for it. I still think to this day I am the youngest person to have GWAMM achieving it at a nice age of 19 and currently 20. Personally going back and playing through Gw1 was probably one of the best experiences I have ever had in playing a game other than speedrunning games and getting records. Personally it might be a crime not to play a game like Gw1. currently getting CotG only like a few HoM points away.

I was so stuck within the soundtrack of SKYRIM, that I missed this. Amazing how advanced this soundtrack from the 'Guild Wars' is. Different - much less a soundtrack more like a classical peace from the 20th century. A great one. Very sophisticated. I will dive into this and find out ... Love it!
