No, King Akhenaten was a good King. He did not force anyone to covert to his religion and in fact built his own city to make sure that he would step on the toes of the old religion. He still support the other temples. But the priest of Anubis poison him and said that his religion the "Sa Aten" mean the "trust of God" is "Satan" the adversary the evil one.

Why is there no speculation here that Akhenaten was the victim of poisoning by the disenfranchised priests whose gods he banned? The efforts after his death to erase his images and memory in general are evidence of the dislike of him by court officials. Clearly assassination should be considered as likely.

As a highly supersticious people, would the Egyptians have seen the plauge and deaths of thousands as a bad omen and therefore blamed the new religious reform? Would the only way to restore balance and order be to restore the old religous ways and scrub the nation clean of a practice that angered the Gods?

Akhenaten was a pharaoh of ancient Egypt, known for his revolutionary reign during the 18th Dynasty (around 1353 to 1336 BCE). His original name was Amenhotep IV, but he changed it to Akhenaten in honor of the god Aten. Here is an overview of his life and significance: Religious Revolution: Akhenaten is best known for transforming Egypt’s traditional polytheistic religion. He focused worship around Aten, the sun disc, elevating it above other deities and promoting a form of monotheism (or henotheism). This shift is sometimes referred to as the Amarna Revolution. Amarna Period: He established a new capital city called Akhetaten, now known as Amarna, which became the center of worship for Aten. This period is marked by distinctive art and culture, often showing more naturalistic depictions of the royal family and a departure from conventional Egyptian artistic styles. Artistic Changes: Under Akhenaten’s rule, Egyptian art underwent significant alterations. Statues and carvings from this era depict the pharaoh and his family with elongated heads and limbs, and a move toward more realistic scenes of family life. Family: Akhenaten's primary wife was Nefertiti, a queen famously depicted in numerous artworks and known for her beauty. They had six daughters. Tutankhamun, one of his likely sons, succeeded him, although the exact lineage is debated. Succession and Legacy: After Akhenaten's death, traditional religious practices were restored, and the worship of Aten was largely abandoned. His successors, including Tutankhamun, reinstated the worship of the traditional pantheon. Akhenaten’s memory was often vilified or obscured by later rulers, who destroyed his monuments and attempted to erase his legacy. Rediscovery: Interest in Akhenaten was renewed in modern times due to archaeological discoveries at Amarna and the tomb of Tutankhamun, which brought more information about his reign and reforms. Akhenaten remains a figure of intrigue for historians and archaeologists due to his unconventional approach to religion and governance, which represents a distinct deviation in Egypt's long history.

Akhenaten means "Splendor of Aten". He was born Amenhotep IV, and changed his name to Akhenaten when he became king. His other names from his Coronation are: (Nefer-Neferu-Ra, Wa-en-Ra) "Beautiful are the beauties of Ra, the Only One of Ra". Soon after his accession to the throne, after being co-regent with his father Amenhotep III, he began to have his new capital city of Akhut-Aten. "City of the Horizon of Aten" built on a new site he chose, which we now call by its Arabic name, "Tell el Amarna". He lived with his parents in their palace of Malkata near Wast (the ancient Egyptian name for the Greek-named city of Thebes, or Karnak and Luxor in Arabic) until the death of his father, and then began his monotheistic religious revolution, worshipping his one god Aten, the power behind the Sun-god Ra. In Wast, he built his first Temple to Aten, near the Great Temple built by his father, at Luxor, before he became sole ruler. He rejected the worship of all other ancient Egyptian gods, especially the cults of Osiris and Isis, and Amen-Ra. He did, however, revere the solar gods associated with Ra, including Horus, and Ra-Horu-Akhuti (the worship of Ra as Horus of the Two Horizons), aka: Ra-Harakhte; Shu, the power of light and heat; and the goddess Mayat, female deity of Truth, Justice, Peace, Law and Order. He also revered the ancient primeval gods Atem or Temu, the solar creator god associated with Ra, and Khepri, the Scarab Beetle god of creation, but rejected Ptah, and all other animal headed humanoid gods. He married his beloved queen wife Nefertiti about the same time of his Coronation. They had six or seven daughters, but no sons together. His son TutankhAten was the son of his second wife Kia, and cared for by his wet nurse Maya. Akhenaten's utopian city Akhut-Aten was a beautiful place, all new and designed to celebrate life given by his god Aten, with beautiful buildings. a well-planned community with a population of perhaps as much as 10,000 people. It had one large broad boulevard on a north-south axis, for chariots and wagons, and a bridge over it at a central point connecting his palace with "Uer-Het-Pa-Aten", the Great Temple of Aten. The second-story bridge had a large open window on both sides called "the Window of Appearances". Akhenaten and Nefertiti would often appear there and shower their followers with gifts they would toss out of the window at certain times of celebration. He died when he was about 37 to 40 years of age, and his younger brother SenkaRa, or SmenkhkaRa, was to succeed him, but the Prince died at the same time, aged about 25. Thus, his son TutankhAten was crowned king at about 9 or 10 years of age, and the powerful High Priests of Amen-Ra then seized the power as his tutors and changed his name to TutankhAmen, and returned Egypt to the worship of the old gods at Wast, and he died at about 18 or 19 years of age. The Prime Minister Ay then seized power, and reigned briefly, before he was deposed by General Horemheb, who was in command of the Egyptian Army; who took the crown, though he had no legitimate claim to the throne. Horemheb married Princess Baketamen, daughter of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, and sister of Akhenaten, who was also known as Mutemwiya, to help legitimize his claim to the throne. His reign was tacked onto the end of the 18th Dynasty, which ended when he died.

Interesting video, I don't have much knowledge on the subject of Egyptology but as the moneyed system was introduced from pre Babylonian times, as a complete system, it would be interesting to know what education Akenaten received, there is always an esoteric as well as exoteric history involved as the Pharaoh held the mysteries in a clenched Lion's Paw fist and his wife did not. So was Akenaten opposed to this, or part of it. Its interesting that he depicted himself in a more normal and less God like way than his predecessors. Culture always comes from the top down, so perhaps building a new city would make it easier to start a new culture? As those at the top like to control the culture, perhaps Akenaten was too much of a threat to the established order and there is a speculative possibility that he was killed rather than died. As is often the case there is a shortage of information on the subject to make any sound conclusions.

Amentohep 3rd and parennefer didnt approve of the temple priests as they demanded amenities that the king could not refuse. They both feared the priests with their curses than the idols themselves. However both of their wives were worshippers of idols so these men gave in. But amentohep the 4 who is akenaten believed in one god. The god of prophet yusuf, joseph. Parennefer was the one who bought yusuf from the slave market. Parennefers wife zulaikha married yusuf after the death of parennefer.

The Nilotes are the indigenous people of the Nile Region KMT originated with these people. Over time, with invasions of other states, immigration, but not necessarily different culturally, (many invaders adopted Egyptian culture), the people, including Royalty, became different hues of colors At the invasion of Ms Alexander😂 the Greek culture morphed as well as the Roman culture, out of the scholarship of KMT and surrounding KUSH Remember, neither the Romans or Greeks had control of Meroë

(Sigh) Reading the comment section on any Ancient Egypt documentary is so frustrating because it always turns into arguments about race. 1. The concept of race didn't exist in then so why people feel the need to bring it up confuses me 2. I have no idea why anyone would think that Ancient Egyptians were some kind of homogenized group that all looked the same. At its height Egypt reached from Sudan to Syria, Pharoahs would marry women from other Kingdoms and for thousands of years people from all over the known world would come to Egypt for trade and knowledge.

Typically pharaohs would erect statues in a more flattering light, symmetrical and visually free of spots and blemishes. Whereas Akhenatens statues are pot-bellied and lack symmetry. I doubt the documentary maker thought he was white or should be portrayed as such.

i think or believe that akhenaton was the younger brother of the firstborn slayed in egypt.his father amenhotep was as josephus says manetho says the pharoh of the exodus. akhenaton as a young ten year old would have been profoundly affected by this and seen that the egyptian gods were powerless and as he gained power so he could bring his religious revolution shutting the temples to the old gods and not causing a revcolt of the people and now out of work priests .don't forget the army was behind him to .So in the beginning he had a lot of support for his ideas a nation that was still in shock from the plagues

I'm the soul who was Akenaten. I have eternal life here already under the sun. You say fanatical because you're an iddy it. I'm the Way to having the blessings of the Lord by obedience to me. I'm the incarnation of the sun God your Lord. None of you want to listen to me, as usual, and everything's going down the shyter. If the covenant was reafirmed with me. Everything would start getting better. You're all set on being goats instead of this shepherd's sheep. So very few will survive. I'm your Savior from the cursing period you're all experiencing these days. Until I'm believed and received. Nothing will get better. Only worse.

@@Vercingetorix.Fantasia The reason why I don't say that the whole covenant is what you need to do is because it's too late for that. Only by receiving this son of man could it be restored and done. There isn't much time left to enter into my everlasting kingdom here. Just get on the list. What does revelation say? Does it say you have to perish for my Heavenly father to collect your souls? He's collecting them why??? For holding to the testimony of THIS LAMB. The guio tines are coming. Face it with courage. Perhaps my heavenly Father will spare you another way but in any case. Be ready to go to your own crucifixion to be sure of your salvaging. Root of salvation is salvage. The day of the Lord is coming like a thief. The meek will inherit the earth.
