Mehdi Hassan is immortal like Rafi and Mozart. The whole world copies/follows them but there is no second Mehdi Hassan or Rafi. Tari's greatest contribution is his impeccable sangat which tremendously enriched Mehdi Saheb and Ghulam Ali's ghazal. Listen to their ghazals without Tari and the ghazal will sound colorless. Bring Tari and then see the ghazal is so colorful. Tari is also immortal in ghazal/geet sangat. When Mehdi Saheb or Ghulam Ali will sing, the tabla of Tari will also sing. So, with Tari there are two Mehdi Hassans or two Ghulam Alis on the stage. There will be no other Tari too but only in Ghazal and geet sangat. Don't mix it with other genres of tabla!

Tari khan is extremely talented tabla player and his fingers dance on tabla, but singing is not his cup of tea. Most of his life spent playing tabla with mehdi hassan saheb specially after the death of ustad pir buksh who was khan saheb's right hand man. After khan saheb's death he is kinda orphan and has no choice but to sing . He is legend in his class as a tabla player
