Glad you reviewed it finally! I own one of these and there's aftermarket springs for it(around 12kg) that brings up the perf up to 90-100fps. I cut the barrel on mine for less barrel drag so it's easier to fire one handed. It's hella fun and stylish as a sidearm, Cheers!

Fun fact about the Model 1887: It is one of few guns that has a magazine tube written as +2. You can put a shell in the breach and one on the lift gate allowing you to have 8 shots.

Questions: 1:can you trim the shells to half length size to hold more in the mag tube? 2: can you brass sleeve the shell for increased power? 3: they make a shotgun too, review coming?

Shorter shells might cause an issue with feeding, since halfway through the cycle, the mouth of the shell has to be aligned with the chamber to feed correctly. But with a bit of reaming, I suppose you can stick a section of brass tube into the shell to improve dart fit.

Fun fact: In T2 the Terminator flip reloads a lever action and during the filming of that scene Arnold Schwarzenegger broke 3 fingers because he was holding a model accurate version of the gun used for close ups instead of the stunt version with a modified wider lever well.

I put the brass tubing that people normally use to upgrade there nerf blasters into the shells. And it did increase the performance , including adding a drop of oil in the “oil port” on the bottom of the lever.. still a lot of fun

How much of a performance increase did you see and what tubings did you use?

So I don’t have a crono but I did measure the range. With the suction cups darts I was hitting 30-34 feet aiming straight , and 64-70 feet with the standard short darts aiming straight and a bit farther when you angle the blaster a bit, idk of the exact range after 73ft cause dart went over my fence. Really glad to see a proper review of this, I've been getting shorts on KZbin of these styles of blasters (real steel looking using shells) and I've been wary about the quality of them. I remember reading a comment saying that certain versions of the 1887 only held like 2 shells so that really concerned me. Might finally pick one up. Also, if you could get your hands on this mag fed trilogy knockoff I've seen on one of those sites, that'd be an interesting video.

Love the 1887. My favorite shotgun and I love lever actions, I have an original manufactured in 1893 so it's black powder only but I still shoot it a few times a year. Maybe these could help scratch the itch of a lever shotgun to mess around with

I think this uses the same shells as the UDL shotty I have. If so, there are shells you can print on Thingiverse. They weren't quite perfect but close.

I mean, I definitely need to paint an orange tip on, but the gray/wood ones are perfect for the zombie post-apocalypse LARP I attend. Ammo scarcity is a cincern, but honestly just loading both of my newly acquired ones up to max, and taking them out for a fight that needs to be ended quickly is just *chef's kiss*.

Replicas of antique guns do not require an orange tip. Only modern gun replicas models require it. 1887 is antique.

I recently purchased a UDL Model 1887 shotgun with the black and wooden finish (just like the ones shown at the beginning of the video) and it cleared U.S customs in less than 48 hours, and when it was delivered to me, I found out why: it came with a detachable orange tip. I don't know if I just got super lucky or if it's a new standard on the shotguns with the black and wooden finish, but if anyone decides to get the same one as I did, it should hopefully come with the orange tip and customs shouldn't have a problem with it. That said, I don't know if this is guaranteed or not, this is just my experience with the product.

These can be modded to use airsoft gas shells. Such as aps as far as I'm aware. If a field allowed it, you could get some good performance as they use co2 tp propel whatever is inside the shell.

I know this sounds stupid, but i own 9 of these. i also am in the middle of modding one and have 3d printed a bunch of shells, (not from thingyverse or anything like it, my own design), and they will sucessfully tighly fit four .50 cal foam balls in them. That is the only way i will use the modded one once i am done, (with the foam balls). Also, at a recent local event (last man standing), i came in third place, (out of 277), using only a strongarm which i had modded to be able to interchange cylinders, no new spring or any other performace-increasing mods were done to this strongarm. Slam fire was my best friend that day. Mind you, every body else had PewPews and stuff like that. So yeah, I just wanted to tell somebody about this, because I thought it was freaken awesome. I hope you thought both of these things were cool and keep smashing out the great content!!!

The Model 1887 is one of the only firearms in the world where you can ghost load a second shell for 5+2, by just stuffing one into the chamber, filling the tube, then letting an extra one rest on the lifter as you close the breech (I believe that's how it works), I wonder if the same thing is possible for that.

Nope. I tried, but the way the lifter works it relies on the round on the lifter sliding into the magazine tube when the action is closed.

if you are looking for a lever action blaster for going to wars, i would advise against this. i would go for the shellington wingchester or the SLAB. this one is fun to goof around with though!!

Not sure on the 1887s but I've tried flipping a cut down 45lc and it ALWAYS jammed up the action with live ammo. Was so disappointed because I practiced it for weeks and got it down perfectly just to find out that it dosent work

My Tippmann TMC paintball marker which is a mag fed M4 replica has no orange in it. Actually turns out tippmann also makes a .22 cal firearm that is nearly identical… hence why I carry all of my markers in a case with obvious paintball gear around it when driving to a field.

I did review this blaster but mine is cheaper it is fully injection molded plastic instead metal and it is completely fun at first after few rounds it's starting to jams especially the strength of the magazine. I tried to fix it but it is still the same problem or worst. I'm glad you buy the blue version it's high quality blaster but really expensive

Shotguns in nerf blasters in my opinion should only be elite standard in FPS, because shotguns are close quarters guns, you're not aiming across a field with them, you're indoors. So you don't need that kind of range, plus if you hit someone around the corner at point blank, it's not gunna hurt at that power. So with that justification. I am 100% buying this blaster!

aren't those handle loops a little too short to correctly flip the blaster? I remember for example on the T2 behind the scenes the prop master had to widen the loop of the lever so Arnold could flip the shotgun without breaking his fingers and it was a rather wide loop.

I would say maybe larp but most larps don't allow cut-down darts and limited shells that can't be bought else were would be an issue, but performance wouldn't be a problem cause most larps don't allow moded springs or high fps
