The adding of some acrylic paint to the Puddles product and letting it pool in the indentations gives the sense of wet and trampled terrain. This would be a very sound basis for a muddy diorama. Paper, up to a point absorbs moisture, and even when saturated would wick excess moisture; I would say the discarded newspaper in this diorama would look a wee bit better if left matte and not glossy, and would serve to juxtapose the surrounding, saturated environment. Kudos to Puddles!
