The Akios 420 looks a cracking rod. I love the fact that, because of where you live, you can get to the east coast and the west coast quite easily and that gives great venue and species knowledge to those of us not so lucky. Keep up the mental health updates as we all need those.

Thats considerate of you, been using a pair of Blackrock Foosa's very tippy, but the carbon weave is beautiful - I do agree with the three part rod they're amazing for stashing away in the car. You menetioned mental health a few videos ago. Personally finding fishing helps clear my head of some of the noise and fog - thanks for sharing how you feel at times i find it helpful.

I used to do a bit of sea fishing years ago as a kid, and just happened to youtube sea fishing one day and came across your channel, and I have been watching ever since. It has made me and the Mrs start sea fishing (she has never liked fishing). Me and the MRS love watching the videos for the knowledge, laughs, and also the way you talk a lot about mental health. Belting rods. I bought mine from winnies in holyhead a few years ago and it Was my first rod and introduction into the continental world. On my second outing with it I landed an 11lb huss and several chunky rays, effortlessly. Loved it ever since. Brilliant rods for the money and I think your review sums it up perfectly.

I recently became a akios user. I jumped at the chance to own a air power that had hardly been used and gave me the option to run fixed spool or multiplier with the sliding reel seat. The fury as a rod always caught my eye with the price. To which i bought my dad one to get him out. Having used it, i was in shock and wanted it for myself. Performs as well or if not better than my penn tidal xr420. Absolutely love akios and will be a customer for many years to come.

Thank you Alex, I've been watching your videos since just before christmas and you've triggered my interest in sea fishing. Also with being disabled, I am limited to what I can do and where I can go, so your videos keep me entertained and my mental health in a good place. After many hours of research, I've chosen the FX420 because I cannnot used a multipliers, I chose the R10 Airloop reel. So when I can get to my dealer, he has the setup put away for me, already set up with mono on one spool and braid on the other, then I can go fishing. Hello mate .. must admit since watching your vids and seeing how the rod casts and the good bite detection I’ve fancied a fury 420 .. I live and fish up Northumberland so heavier ground but I like fishing clean beaches too and the casting weight rod woukd be ideal .. you coming up again this winter too do a bit cod hunting with Sparta Steve ? Great review and explanation of the difference between the 3 rods, I have been using the Akios Fireloop Reel for a while and I must say its a quality reel and alternative to the Penn Surfblaster I have. Keep up the great work!

Hi Alex. Great report as ever, honest and straight forward. The review on the Akios 420 was really interesting, very informative especially coming from someone that has used one regularly and is very happy with the all round performance. I’m a pensioner getting on for 70 now and still using multipliers but it is getting harder as I get older. I was thinking of changing to a fixed spool but was not sure which rod I could afford to pair it with. After viewing your report I thought that the Akios 420 would be perfect as I am only 5’ 6” the 4.2 Mt. length would be Ideal. So I thought I would have a go at winning the rod generously donated by Akios. If I was the lucky one I would certainly try to purchase another one as I have always used 2 paired rods and reels. Great giveaway mate! At the moment I have a diawa 4 piece carbon sea rod due to the fact that I dont drive so I either get the bus or cycle to my fishing marks on the mersey! I bought a pair of the 420s about 18 months ago based on your recommendation mate. They're excellent. I've now got a pair of the 420s, a pair of Hellrazors, an Ironstik Travel and a Nanotech Travel Spinning rod. Akios convert over here. Their customer service was top notch too when I had an issue with the Spinning rod. ❤

Best rod and reel I've had Handling it is so easy and light The bite detection is so light it's unreal I live in the same town where the distributor is based on cheshire Great review Love my rod too.
