When you called the bike slide a "Power slide," funnily, it's what the industry calls the "Akira slide." That one shot inspired literally hundreds of the same shot thereafter in movies, anime, cartoons, etc. Like you said, so much of Akira inspired everything after it.

The movie is very good as an animation, but please read the original book as well. Since the movie was created in the middle of the original story important characters and stories have been altered.The story after the movie is also very good.

Good sub but the dubs from the 90s are elite maybe because I was a child but the dub for this was phenomenal

@@dhimankalita1690 No, this dub was the best out there. Only Ghost In The Shell equalled it. All of the VA's were top notch animation names in this.

I will respectfully disagree. I saw the Streamline Dub when AKIRA was released in American theaters (I'd already seen the Japanese version a billion times), and it was...like fingernails on a chalkboard for me.

No. Stop making up lies The dubbing was complete trash like every single dub ever, just let people watch the movie in the original way its intended to be watched like normal human beings! You can choose to disrespect the creators of a show/movie but dont try to push others onto disrespecting them aswell by putting fake voices on top of theirs!
