Everyone hates waking up to an alarm. If you put this song as your alarm sound, you will hate the song as well. Definitely not recomended.

This track gets better when you know the Japanese because of the words spoken in the background which sum up the visuals we see at the beginning of the movie: Arashi, gareki, honoo, kakera, machi, tatsumaki, chikara, Storm, rubble, flame, fragment, town, whirlwind, power, hikari, yatsura, matsuri, sora, nakama, hashiru light, them, festival, sky, comrades, running Finally the names of Kaneda, Tetsuo, Kai, Yamagata

there's this feel to AKIRA that you just don't get with any other sci fi anime, but one that i can't just put thy finger on. it's so unique that i just can't explain it. it's something alien and future like, yet still has something of a biblical feel to it. throughout the entire film i'm getting this feeling that's so unique i might as well call it an AKIRA feel, cause there's no blend of ancient god and future man like it

Tokyo is hosting the 2020 Olympics. Akira takes place in the year 2019, and in the film Tokyo is hosting the 2020 Olympics. It will be one of the greatest disappointments of my life if they do not include Kaneda's Theme during the opening ceremonies.

This, along with Ghost In the Shell's, they don't make music like this in anime these days; traditional, moody, haunting, atmospheric type of music scores. Not just waxing nostalgic, as an anime fan, this could've been the future of anime music, and should have evolved from there, but unfortunately, it all devolved into immature, mass-manufactured idol pop singer artifice. There MIGHT better anime music out there in this decade, but they're getting rarer now.

+Zedfinite Well, you are right and wrong at the same time. There is still good music in anime even if it is not that old, Seach in KZbin for "Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles OST". It's not one good anime, but it is still a great manga, but the anime has one of the best soundtracks i ever heard. Try it, and tell me if you like.

+Skeleton McOverlord I think he was talking about OST's.
@josearcanjo50798 жыл бұрын
+Zedfinite You are regarding Akira, Ghost in the Shell... as rules rather than exceptions - which they really are, and that's what's so good about it. Scores like this one, along with Hisashi's works at Ghibli and Shimomura's for some Square Enix JRPGs, should not be taken as the common denominator for judging an average anime. The average japanese anime are, in most cases, merely entertainment merchandises (therefore you get mass production, clichés, sexual appeal and so on). They are not trying "to prove a point". Akira does.

I think you might like Fma 2003 and brotherhood's osts. Look up the tracks Way Home, Brothers, Dante, and The Fullmetal Alchemist ~Main Theme~
Listen to this over some protest footage for the real AKIRA experience, and some chills to boot.

I might definitely voice Kaneda in the live-action movie Akira just like Scarlett Johansson voiced Motoko in live-action Ghost in the Shell
Se existisse na época alguma premiação ao Oscar,esse filme merecia ganhar o Oscar de melhor animação e melhor musica também.

Haha...I've mixed the beginning with the credits-version with a fade to the cd rip after the sound effects. Got one sound version of the movie with "okay" quality and matched it to the mastering of the cd. Works very well! I will never understand what they were thinking by adding those horrible soundfiles. Not alone they sounded totally bad with clipping and all...they even end abruptly.
