They opened for Motley Crue on this tour and absolutely blew the headliners off the stage!

Pretty easy to do when a headliners bassist can hardly play it.

I was a Junior in HS, nothing going on that night, one of the guys wanted to see Motley Crue, I wasn’t that interested but you park for free plunk down 8 bucks and push your way to the front. I’ve seen 100 Metal concerts and Loudness 1985 is literally one of the best I’ve ever seen. The headliner that night… meh at best

Akira is an incredible guitarist and often overlooked when it comes to 80's shredders. I listened to Thunder in the East so many times that the tape wore out. I believe that in later years he went on to score music for video games and anime productions, both of which are HUGE markets in Japan.
@pastxmas Жыл бұрын
Because he was playing all of Eddie Van Halen's licks. Tons of people on KZbin are doing that as we speak. Doesn't really make one stand out. Lightning Strikes is such a ripoff of 1984 and 5150 it should be a freakin crime.

@akidk1499 well I guess we know who inspired Paul's ridiculously fast alternate picking now.
Incredible guitar player today as he was back then. I saw them in their 1985 thunder in the East tour at the Hollywood Palladium. Two great local L.A bands opened up for them, Warrior which also had a Japanese guitar player, and Malice. It was a great show and best time to be young in the 80s.

A true guitar GOD!! Akira is in my opinion, Among the top 10 greatest metal guitarists of the 1980s and listed VERY high! Even in 2020, he hasnt slowed down a single step or skipped a single note. The man is a legend. Like Tony Iommi did with Black Sabbath, Akira held up the Loudness Banner proudly throughout the decades.

@@lucianmunteanu8751Becker and MacAlpine are a generation after Akira. Becker's my all time favorite but players like Akira, Malmsteen and so on influenced those late 80s/early 90s shredders highly. Shawn Lane was just from some other planet, same with Al DiMeola. The fact they played that fast in the 70s is mind blowing.
