It's a little bit more complicated than that. The British Empire wanted to colonize Philippines similar to Malaysia, but unlike Malaysia, the Philippines was able to beat back the British Empire with a little help from Spain. After that, the British called in Netherlands to colonize the country and kick Spain out (look up the 7 year war), but the Philippines was also able to kick the Dutch out. (The Dutch tried to attack six times in a year before formally retreating after the natives broke their 16 ships) During the Treaty of Paris, Spain wanted to give America Mindanao, the undeveloped savage island in their opinion, which would separate the country. Britain, seeing an opportunity, told America to demand the whole country so that Luzon and Visayas wouldn't fall into German or Soviet influence (as it's had the interest of these two superpowers for a while now) This is actually why you can see Philippine artifacts in the British Museum. As this was not common knowledge to everyone that British invaded the country, Jose Rizal was absolutely shocked at what he found. As the Dutch were kicked out before actually getting to loot much, you wouldn't really find anything in their museums. The British used their influence in Manila to start up the trade with China btw

@@mariacrowx well for most countryhumans fans, many will be confused with the Second Reich and the Fourth Reich since they exactly look the same. But to clarify it for you on why he's called Fourth Reich. You see, Germany (the modern Germany) suddenly turned to what you think is the German Empire, but those colors (black, red, and gold) on the modern German flag existed after WW1 as the Weimar Republic (and the reason why Germany adopted those colors again after WW2 is because the flag had been used in a time when Germany was a democracy). So, that can't be the Second Reich since those colors came to exist only after WW1. It will only make sense if you think of it as the Fourth Reich because if you look at the historical perspective, the Weimar Republic can't revert into the German Empire again. I wish you get my point. I don't know if my wording explains my point correctly, but I wish you get the gist of it.
