If you were considering a buying a dog please do not buy an Akita as a first pet you will be overwhelmed and you will not have the experience to take care of this dog they are great dogs fantastic dogs loyal obedient but very stubborn and if you don't know what you're doing you can be in a world of shit. You must be strong-willed strong physically and mentally dominant over the dog. Most Akitas are alpha personality. Do not I repeat do not ever try to physically hit your Akita you have no business only one if you do and you will pay the price he will be your Judge and and jury. The Akita is a wonderful example of what a dog should be. Just make sure that you are ready for one and be a wonderful owner. Otherwise you may come up short.
