Hello, Triple-A, and thanks for bringing us BACK on the road. 😃Thanks for bringing us another drop, and I can't wait until we head back out to the provinces. That said, I still enjoy these Freetown videos and am learning quite a bit about our Capital city. Triple-A, I am sensing a pattern here; it appears that when we are on the big roads/streets, we see nice, beautiful houses, and while there can be trash, it's not as brutally evident (well, mostly). But take a step back, off these roads, say a block or two, and then BAM! Now you are in the yard road, trash, and clogged gutters parts of the community. It's weird, but this pattern suggests people know what they are doing. Some of these places tend to be remote, not only by distance but also because they are cut off from motorable roads, and there is no solution to trash accumulation - other than that one horrible choice of letting water wash it away. Then there's the risk of cutting themselves off from care in the case of emergencies. I don't get it. We have to sleep somewhere, but this approach to living cannot be acceptable. I am not trying to judge these people, as we are all in different stages of life. But how do we find cutting ourselves off from emergency and sanitation services acceptable? Or living so stacked up atop each other that the concept of yard road is a way of life? Or even having low roofs that you are one wrong step away from zinc slicing your head or ankle open? The whole situation is unsettling to me, Triple-A. Seeing these young kids navigating through this place (including that boy who almost fell) breaks my heart. This is tough stuff, but there are ways to fix it. We are not the first capital city to experience this. If I recall correctly, London used to smell of urine in our lifetime. They saw a problem and solved it. We, too, can do the same. It all may seem daunting, but there's always a way through and forward. Burying our heads in the sand is not working and never will. I have hope for our home, Triple-A, and it's work like this - what you are doing here will wake us up and force us to face our problems head-on. Thank you. As always, thanks for the shoutout. Not trying to put a damper on this, but i don't think that it is safe to live up on these mountains, simply because the structures doesn't look safe, and i think that they are susceptible to mud😮slides in the future.
