Yes! Top mount boards generally tend to learn towards higher pitched in terms of sound. However, imo, issue with the top75 is that the bottom case is too light making the board sound incredibly hollow without foams. Of course, adding foams and the silicon dampener helps as demonstrated in the video, but it kills the sound 😭😭 Ill be going over this in the full video!

@@YBBK that’s just natural. Aluminum is a metal, but it’s on the lighter side, making boards without some kind of weight sound hollow. But some will like the sound, some don’t. The most balanced way to get the most out of these kinds of board imo is either kilmat, a thin piece of sorbothane or rubber, or a custom steel/brass weight.

@@kaeroseon You’re right, it does come down to preference. But I feel like top mount should still be reserved for higher budget boards as they have more room for brass/ss weights. Using any kind of dampener eg.killmate, silicon removes any character from the top mounting system to begin with. In that case, you might as well just go buy another board.

Why do so many people change the switch on the spacebar for sound tests? I’d love to hear what the strawberries sound like for the whole board, not just the alphas.

In my full video I will have that. But this is my preferred build as the tactile switch helps bring more life out of the space imo.
