Akko (Acre) Old city tour

with David Hyman Israeli professional tour guide This weeks video tour leads us to the pearl of the mediterranean Sea. Historic Old Akko (Acre) video tour led by Israeli tour guide David Hyman, will take us to the must see sites in this enchanting and ever-surprising city. We start the tour at the Knights Halls, that were built by the Crusaders during the middle Ages, then we will visit the Akko prison museum where to see the gallows, the prison cells, Zeev Jabotinsky's story and we will talk about the "Irgun" breakout from the prison. We enter the Al-Jazaar Mosque, a true mix of faith and form. Walking allong the Akko bazaars is always fun , sorry the video can't capture the smells of the spices, the coffee, the bread and .. the fish. We arrive at the port of Akko and board a boat to sail along the walls, such fun!!
End our tour with the spectacle of the jumping boys of Akko, fearless leaping from the 15 meter walls in to the mediterranean sea.

Thanks for watching. Nimrod fortress is in on my list. Recent research shows that it is not a crusader fort, but was built by Muslims. I will discuss this when I prepare the video.

It's my understanding and I could be incorrect, that Akko has a lot of underground passages. If true, maybe they are not open to the public which would be too bad. As always, a great, informative video with some sad history regarding the Jewish Freedom Fighter executions. Sadly, that sort of thing was all too common for countries under British rule during that time.
