The cream yellows give more of a marbly and light typing experience and i think the morandi gives more of a thocky/creamy and foamy typing experiment overall I like the morandi better just because of the feel

I am building my first custom keyboard. The Meletrix Zoom98 and ordered the WS Morandi switches for it. From your comparison I like the sound of the Morandi switches over the Akko cream yellows. I chose them as they are supposed to be a good all around linear switch. I bought the keyboard on a group buy from Meletrix and it doesn't arrive until 1/24 earliest. Looking forward to my first keyboard build. I went all out and ordered all the modules and the internal weight as well as a brass plate. Thanks for the video.

@nZeroI now have Morandi in 3 of my boards, to me the are the creamiest switches made and the RGB performance is great. I've also purchased Akko Cream Yellows, Blues, Lavender, Matcha, Piano and Black V3 Pros since then. What I noticed about a month after my comment was that almost all my boards sounded very similar. Smooth creamy switches, lots of foam and very thocky. However I wanted something different so I have been trying to make each build sound different. To me the Yellow & Black Akkos sound quite similar but I like the slightly heavier feel of the blacks. With similar foam and some GMK or DCX ABS caps and the Blacks I get an amazingly deep but clacky sound I've become addicted to. Currently typing on a modified Q2 with Blacks and GMK WoB and it's my favorite keyboard for sound and feel at the moment. I actually have the Blacks now in 3 boards, soon to be 4 as I just picked up a Jris 75 used which I plan to build with them. The sound difference from the video is one of the things that got me really thinking about how all my boards sounded like the Morandi. If you haven't tried them the WS Heavy Tactile, and the bump is quite heavy, really give a very nice deep thud when typing. I have those on one of my boards as well.

Thanks for the comparison. I've been also using the OG cream yellows, and they are quite a decent switch for their price. Only thing I didn't like is that they are too loud and high pitched so I just bought a batch of ws morandis, hope they will turn out just as good as in your video.

@@jhondoe2785 installed this switch today onto my keyboard. So far I can say it's a very decent switch for its price ( 70x for 34€). Here's what is different from akko cream yellow: 1. WS factory lube is a lot better than expected. They are not scratchy and lube is fairly consistent. 2. For those who care about RGB, light diffusers make a big difference: keyboard backlight is now brighter and more diffused. 3. The sound profile changed slightly: now it's leaning towards the thock and not the cream.

I've been using morandis for 6 months now, I love the sound (actually idk how they truly sound because I use cerakeys keycaps) but the stem wobble on morandis is the highest I've found, have you have any problems with this? I can wobble by keycaps at like a 30 degree angle side to side. How are the yellows?
@MarbsMusic
@MarbsMusic 4 ай бұрын
Stem wobble on the Morandi is indeed noticeable. I like them so much I live with it but found that I don't put them on anything with taller profile caps, it just gets to be too much for me but I'm good with them on cherry profile caps. To me there is no wobble at all on the Akko V3 Pros that have the box stem, regardless of the version (Yellow, Blue, Black, Lavender or Matcha)
