Thanks for great explanation. Price has dropped so it’s comparable with the mahogany now. I ordered the bamboo cutaway model today.

Thank you for an excellent review. Toptastic presentation and such a beautiful sweet sound. Your review has enabled me to discern the choice I needed to make between the mahogany and the bamboo. So, for me the MOG will be the choice for now, but I see merit and potential for the BAM' at a later date, purely for quiet sessions. :)

I actually saw the bamboo being processed in a factories here on youtube. You will find lots of videos of that sort here. . Praise Yahuah for all the provisions on the earth. I have been wanting a Aklot bamboo Ukulele. I may just be able to get one soon. or better yet a couple . I would like my grand daughter to have one as well. Thank you Jeremy

Great review. Sound and volume are so important to me. This uke looks so amazing. Wished it had better resonance and volume and that it came with a nice pickup and came in a baritone model cause I would order it today. I think that script looks tacky.

that signature is ugly af. might as well smeared shit across the inside since they wanna ruin a nice instrument

It looks better here than in the Amazon description. The extra advertising on the body is a deal breaker for me. While the look of the material is interesting, it doesn't sound any better than some of my lower cost tenors.

I got this in a concert (no "Made By Aklot" on body, yay!); it had low volume and a flat tone. I put titaniums on it and the volume and tone are much better. Not a bad uke, but the Aklot/Kmise mahogany and Tiger flame okoume are better and cost less.

Hi Mr. Hill. I know you posted your video four years ago. I am exploring the possibility of purchasing an Aklot bamboo uke since I really enjoy my Aklot Mahogany tenor uke. I love bamboo, but will decline buying the uke after your report about the sound. You expressed my concerns. Bamboo is a beautiful renewable grass, but it has its limitations. It is extremely hard and unforgiving. Thus acoustically it is hard. I could hear that in your playing. It is also great for solid flooring (though make sure you install quality under flooring so it does not go hard on the feet). Great for furniture. Makes terrible cutting boards (dulls up good knives in no time.

Nice review. I suspect that all the glue acts to dampen the sound. It's kind of telling that it's only available in tenor size, like maybe bamboo doesn't sound good in the smaller sizes.

There is a concert you can also buy from the link. Maybe it was not yet available 8 months ago.

I agree, I like the bamboo uke, but I own the Aklot you previously reviewed. I think the mahogany uke is a better sounding instrument. At this point in time I can't justify paying $120.00 for a novelty when I can buy a better sounding, better playing uke for half the money. I do think the bamboo one looks nice, except for the script on the top. Thanks for the review 👍😁

Seems like it produces as much volume as the non carbon fiber model Outdoor Ukulele makes. Killer looking uke though. I might get the Kala one that was just announced.

Dude you are exactly the person i want it to ask this question to because you play the ukulele and you seem to collect action figures as well just like me.My question is since ukulele need humidity and action figure need to be in a dry place how do you deal with that.Some people tell me to put a humidifier but since i have hot toys and funko pops in the in my house i'm kind of scared to do that.

Great explanation of the bamboo construction. I have watched other reviews and I agree that this is a pretty, nice-sounding uke BUT the signature takes a lot away from it’s classy looks.

Apparently they're going to remove the signature in future production runs. It's nice to know they're listening to feedback.

@@JeremyHill I think it's a matter of taste. I personally like the signature in the body. I'm waiting to receive mine which arrives tomorrow and I'm hoping to like the sound of it.
@a1brian234 жыл бұрын
The one the link takes you to on Amazon does not have a signiture so they must have removed it.

Did you end up changing out the strings? I doubt that would change the volume, especially if you go to fluorocarbon strings but enquiring minds want to know. Thanks for the review!
@keefmeister774 жыл бұрын
I did, titaniums make it much louder.
@HaydenMZ794 жыл бұрын
KeefTheUkuleleRobot ...nice! I put a set of D’Addario EJ99T fluorocarbon strings on mine and sounds much better...it’s still a bit punchy in places for me tho.

lol how did you get it? i emailed them and wanted to review it they wouldnt respond .now everyone has them for review .guess im to late looked strange to me but i like tenors and sounded ok online but who knows its double the price of the other aklots sounds little better to. to bad they dont reply to customers maybe only the ones they chose lol thanks for the video

Beautiful looking uke. Your correct the script looks tacky. The volume is a little low and resonance is poor. I would not pay this amount. May consider it if it were baritone and had a a quality pickup. Again, it is beautiful but a little weak sounding.

sadly the quality control from Aklot is dreadful. i ordered two from Amazon, and both were poorly package/protected for shipping. both arrived heavily cracked across the sound board and the back on both. aklot only responded to the 2nd email, and only after i contacted amazon CS. and the logo on the body is truly ugly. the near identical kala model is better quality.
@aklotmusicalinstrument91394 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the poor package, you can send email to me for new repalcments.

Bamboo has a lot of holes in it. So the resonance is not as good as wood.

Like other say. Nice looking and sounding Uke. But the signature is really ugly. Concert size would be nice.
