the masses don't hate Akira Nakai himself, it's the oversaturation of low quality builds outside of Tsukuba and SoCal area which were mostly garage queens still on stock powertrain that goes against the spirit of "Rough World begriff' that made enthusiasts feel it became such a sellout after it's heavy feature in NFS2015. It was still cool back in the early Speedhunters era when owners were actually chasing times and competing in the annual Idlers Cup with their builds. They need the kit to fit wider tires for faster times, not skip straight to the aesthetics and have Nakai-san build it in front of a crowd for maximum clout.
