Hi akso, is possible to use a xone 42+audio 8 dj soundcard instead of a djm mixer? Same setup but with different mixer. Thank you

The mapping is specific to the cdjs, so beyond that you can match it with whatever mixer and audio device you want, as long as it has enough inputs and outputs. Hope this helps.

Iv just bought some 400s and I have 2 X sanDEX 60G USB and I put all my tracks on them and they wouldn't load I had some tracks off my laptop from years ago put them on the USB and they read the tracks but it couldn't establish any BPM now I got my cousin to look at at all his tracks cross them over In folder order works on his 3000s but won't even load on mine ?

Hi, I haven’t done anything specific with the setup. I just rotate the encoder on the cdj faster or slower.

@@marcoxxx21 Hey, yes....the no disc message means that you need to change the mode of the deck....an the left of the screen there is a button with different modes....change that to pc. This should help ;)

Hey, not sure if the z2 would allow you that, seeing that it's a two channel mixer. But in terms of the mapping you can. Load the file twice, assign it to each cdj. The in the deck focus settings you can choose one as deck c and one as deck d. That's it ;) Hope this helps. AKSO

hey, i programed everything. follow the steps, but i cant use the hot cues and ther is an issue, so only the right pART of my mixer ir plays both dekcs on right side, why is this?

hey, 1) it's interesting that the hot cues don't work. Have you mapped them on your own or are you using the mapping that I provide? If you've done them on your own, I would say that the are mapped incorrectly. If you're using my mapping then the setup is probably not done correctly. Are the cdjs recognised as midi devices in Traktor at all? I would need more details to be able to give you a better advice here. 2) there are a couple of different reasons that would cause the cdjs to output on the same channel. Are they controlling the same deck in Traktor? If yes, then you need to change the deck focus from the settings, so that each deck controls a different virtual deck. If they are already controlling separate decks, then you need to fix your audio card settings. Have you aggregated the two cdjs as one sound card? On PC you do this by installing ASIO drivers and then selecting those as your main output device. On Mac you need to create an aggregate device in you audio/midi settings (there are a lot of tutorials on YT already on this). If you've already done this step, then you just need to go to the audio routing tab in your preferences and make sure that each cdj outputs on the correct channel. Hope these notes help a bit. Hey, thanks for checking out the cdj mapping. You load the same file twice and then just assign the relevant device focus in the settings as demonstrated in this video ;) All else should take care of itself ;)

Hi tried to remap the CDJs using your map but the hotcues on deck a are working the hotcues on deck b. I am using a Traktor z2 mixer with the CDJs usb wired into the mixer.

Alison Lynch hey, I am glad that you've decided to give the mapping a try. This is easily fixed. When you select each deck from the drop down menu with your devices you can see the device's focus in the top right hand side. Switch the devices focus settings to represent the correct deck and you are golden. There is also an option to select a specific mapping focus in the mapping window. However, these should be set to follow the device's focus, so I would start from the top. Give this a try and let me know how you get on. Hope this is helpful.

I've not mapped sync but you can find it in the mapping options in Traktor. You can also check out some tutorials on YT and see how to do it. 😉

Hi, if the cdjs are controlling two separate decks in Traktor, then you just have to make sure that the audio routing in the settings is correct. If the two cdjs are controlling only one deck in Traktor, then have a look at the focus deck settings in the controller preferences. I hope this helps. AKSO

Hey Akso, thanks for this awesome mapping. I can't seem to get any response out of Traktor via the CDJ after importing your TSI settings. Traktor recognizes that the device is plugged but I can't seem to use it. Is there any reason why that would happen?

Hey man, thanks for watching and downloading the mapping. Check your in and out ports and make sure they are set to the correct device. Also make sure that the device target is set to the correct player that you want to use for the respective virtual deck. 9 out of 10 times this is what fixes it. You can find these settings Preferences>Control Manager>Device Setup. If this does not work, hit me up and we can come up with a solution. Cheers

Hey mate, I have created my own mapping for the CDJ 400 and replaced the default CDJ400 .tsi file in the Native Instruments default settings folder (Documents/Native Instruments/Traktor 2.7.1/Settings/Default Settings/Controller/Pioneer). When I load traktor and turn on the CDJs, one deck seems to load up with my custom mapping and the other uses the default mapping (i.e. it only has basic jog wheel, tempo controls etc.) despite me having replaced the original file from that folder. Any ideas on how to go get Traktor to load the custom mapping on both decks automatically? Prior to this I was having to go into controller manager and assign the mapping to each deck every time I started traktor. Was hoping replacing the default .tsi would have done the trick but seems not. TIA if you can help.

Alright? You've taken an interesting approach there. I've been using the mapping for a while now but I never messed with the main Traktor directories. I've just uploaded them and then they load up without any issues, even after I've upgraded the software. I don't have a direct answer to your question, unfortunately, but maybe I can give you an idea where to start from. So, how many units can you actually see in your preference window? If there are two (probably), check the deck focus. Sometimes you need to still configure the 2nd and the 3rd, etc. deck/s after upload as they are all reading a single tsi. file. If it isn't that, maybe try to upload the mapping again and configure the deck that's playing about manually. Then it should remember it and stop being weird. This is all I can think of for the moment, I hope it's helpful. Have a go and let me know how you get on. Cheers AKSO

Why not map that 4 buttons (next & previous track, forward & backward) to hotcue-s? You don't need them since you can browse with big encoder, and search thru track with jog

Hey, man. This is a great idea. Unfortunately, these are buttons are not available for mapping. I had the idea to map them to beat jump or hot cue jump or something like that. These buttons and the looping buttons are not available for mapping at all. Same with the pitch bend, I think. 😉

I can give an update on that actually. If you add the cdj as a generic midi device you can add everything that you want, including the buttons you mentioned. The only downside to this is that you also need to map the job wheel and I am not sure how tight the can get that way. May try this in the future but I thought it's worth mentioning. Cheers.

Why can't you use modifiers for that? It would be a bit of work to map everything to the modifier but it should be possible. Ebay...I am on there more often than FB 😂

Well I'd imagine you could come up with some sort of complicated mapping to control both decks. But because you can't map the jog wheels and play button etc it would just be a bit of a messy setup. I was hoping to just have a one button modifier that switch all the controls between deck A & B

Jay Taylor, you are right but what you could do is map an instant double button. The rotary is a good candidate - at the moment if you select a track that is playing on another deck, you automatically get a double. So add a modifier to that and set it to load on a different deck once the modifier is active. And then use your cdj for the next track 😉

Fabio Araujo you can assign multiple functions to the same button, so you can assign the effect select, so that it's always the effect that you want, then the wet dry knob to a specific value and finally activate on off. So doing all this will allow you to activate a specific effect, with a specific value with on single button ;)

Fabio Araujo so you choose what effect you want from the traktor menu, then press learn and then press the button you want. Job done. There are a ton of tutorials how to do this on KZbin. Just check some of them out ;)

Why don't you just use the timecode cd and get the Traktor X1 MK2 and perform like that. I am thinking of getting this player (2n hand) and use it like that. Timecode cd and Traktor X1 MK2.

Hey, HID is a much better connection than timecode. It's more stable and it gives you more visual feedback directly on the decks. I can't think of a benefit of using timecode over HID but let me know if you know some as I will be interested to see what they are. Cheers, AKSO

@@aksoofficial if you prefer hid mode is oke. I am old Skool. I have traktor audio 10, x1 mk2 and f1. So I am using 2 technics sl 1210 mk2 with timecode DVS and I know how the x1 mk2 works. So for me I prefer old Skool. I am getting this cdj 400 for €180 2n hand. So I have 4 deck, 3 track deck and 1 remix deck. Thanks for the response.

@@Funkadelic-Freak yeah, if you have vinyl, then timecode makes sense. But you can do a hybrid setup where the cdj is in hid mode and the turntables use timecode vinyl 😉
