ऐ ईमान लाने वालों! तुम यहूदियों और ईसाइयों को अपना मित्र न बनाओ। वे परस्पर एक-दूसरे के मित्र हैं। तुम में से जो कोई उनको अपना मित्र बनाएगा, वो उन्हीं लोगों में से होगा। निस्संदेह अल्लाह अत्याचारियों को मार्ग नहीं दिखाता।" (अल-क़ुरआन-5:51) पहली नज़र में,आयत 5:51 यहूदियों और ईसाईयों के साथ दोस्ती करने पर प्रतिबंध लगाती हुई प्रतीत होती है, इस आयत को समझने से पहले आइए देखते हैं कि ग़ैर- मुस्लिमों से संबंध और मित्रता के बारे क़ुरआन की अन्य आयात में क्या आदेश हैं। " ईमान वालों को चाहिए कि वे ईमान वालों से हटकर इंकार करने वालों को अपना मित्र ने बनाएं, और जो ऐसा करेगा उसका अल्लाह की ओर से किसी मामले में कोई (ज़िम्मा) नहीं, सिवाय इसके कि तुम उनसे पूरी तरह दूर रहो।" (अल-क़ुरआन-3:28) "जो ईमान वालों से हटकर इंकार करने वालों को अपना मित्र बनाते हैं, क्या उन्हें उनके पास प्रतिष्ठा की तलाश है? प्रतिष्ठा तो सारी की सारी अल्लाह ही के लिए है। (अल-क़ुरआन-4:139) "वो 'किताब' में तुम पर ये हुक्म उतार चुका है कि जब तुम सुनो की अल्लाह की आयतों का इंकार किया जा रहा है और उसका उपहास किया जा रहा है, तो जब तक वो किसी दूसरी बात में न लग जाएं, उनके साथ न बैठो… (अल-क़ुरआन-4:140) "ऐ ईमान लाने वालों, अपनों से हटकर (छोड़कर) दूसरों को राज़दार न बनाओ, वे तुम्हें नुक़सान पहुंचाने में कोई कमी नहीं करते। जितनी भी तुम कठिनाई में पड़ो वही उनको प्रिय है। उनका द्वेष तो उनके मुंह से व्यक्त हो चुका है और जो कुछ उनके सीने छिपाए हुए हैं, वह तो इससे भी बढ़कर है। यदि तुम बुद्धि से काम लो, तो हमने तुम्हारे लिए आयतें खोलकर बयान कर दी हैं। (अल-क़ुरआन-3:118) "ये तो तुम हो जो उनसे प्रेम करते हो और वे तुमसे प्रेम नहीं करते, जबकि तुम संपूर्ण किताब पर ईमान रखते हो और वे जब तुमसे मिलते हैं तो कहने को तो कहते हैं कि "हम ईमान लाए हैं" किन्तु जब वे अलग होते हैं तो तुम पर क्रोध के मारे दाॅतों से उंगलियां काटने लगते हैं।" (अल-क़ुरआन-3:119)

Land of Al Aqsa: When muslims conquered Jerusalem, the place of Al Aqsa was filled with city's rubbish and waste. Omar himself started cleaning it and was joined by others to clean it. Jews: Jews were time and again exiled from Jerusalem by Romans and Christians, their temples destroyed. Muslims invited them to live in the city after they came to power and encouraged Jews, Muslims, and Christians to live side by side. What you see today is sorry state of affairs.

the second temple wasnt destroyed by christians- christianity hadn't started as an organized religion yet!!!!! it was destroyed by the Roman empire- which was pagan at that point in time. The temple mount is the holiest place in the Jewish religion. it is the place that we all pray to, just as muslims pray towards mecca. After conquering the holy land, Muslims built the al aksa mosque on the holiest site for Jews...... In terms of respecting jewish people- Muslims do not allow Jews to utter any prayer at the holiest site for Jews, the temple mount. Jewish prayer was also restricted for many years at the western wall, with muslims building their houses along the wall and using it as their garbage dump. the second holiest site for Jews is the tomb of the patriarchs in Hebron. Under Muslim control, they forbade Jews from going and praying there.
