My father has passed away on 10th of May 2023, he was bedridden for about 10 - 12 years. So please pray for his forgiveness that Allah may forgive even the smallest of his sins, keep safe from the punishment of the grave , may Allah illuminate my father's grave with his noor, may Allah make his grave one of the Gardens of Jannah. May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannat ul Firdaus and give us patience and make us a source of sawab e jariyah for him. Bihind them is Barzakh or barrier (Q 23:100).It is said to those Mujrimun dead (disbeliever, polytheist, sinners) who will be appealing to Allah to send back to world to do good deeds (Q 32:12). So souls in that unseen place in front of barrier will be exposed to hell fire as said for Feraun (Q 40:46). such way reward also touches .the dead. Behind them is barrier or Barzakh, so they the dead cannot go behind the barrier to the world.

It confuses me because there is a verse that says the time from when we die until judgement day will feel like we slept a day or so. So do we die and then wake up to judgement day or do we die a live a barzakh life until judgement day

If you make it to heaven in the future, you will have a life whatever you desire so focus on reaching there because most of us are gonna go to hell according to Surah Araf so the time is short and you must gain knowledge on what you should be doing in order to get there. In paradise, there will be beautiful women for you to marry who will love you more than you can imagine and they won't cheat on you so strive for that instead.
