This is one of my favorite shows ever!!! And I still watch it when it's on. Some of the funniest one's are when Peggy cook's something to eat and Al Bundy can't eat. And has to watch the rest of the family eat away and Peggy says we can't do this in front of Al and Bud gets up and turned his dad's chair around so they don't have to look at him looking at them. 😂

One of the best lines in the show is when Al buys a new toilet for his new Bathroom, the Ferguson, Peg says "What do that toilet have that I don't?" and Al says "A Job" then goes upstairs.

4:03 Peggy's hairdo is called a Bouffant. It was popular in from the mid-1950s to the late-1960s/early-1970s. It was first worn by Marie Antionette in the mid/late-1800s. Then, by First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy in the early-1960s, when JFK was President. However, It lost most of its fame in the late-1960s, due to other styles becoming the norm. It was characterized by the Pompadour, which was named after Madame de Pompadour (1721 - 1754), the Mistress of King Louis XV. It was worn in the late-1700s, the 1890s to sometime during WWI and the 1940s for Women. Men started to wear a different version of in the 1950s and 1960s by stars like Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, Johnny Cash and Ritchie Valens. It even had a resurgence for both men and women in the mid-2000s. Nonetheless, the Bouffant eventually led to the Beehive hairdo, which became popular during the mid-1950s to the early/mid-1960s, the 1970s to the early/mid-1980s, and the mid/late-2000s.

Fun fact: Many of the large women were comedians themselves, and often helped write the fat jokes that would be used against them. And they took it all in stride and laughed every bit as everyone else did. The true golden era of comedy. Everyone could make fun of and laugh at everyone, including themselves, because we all understood that's what it was; COMEDY.

I try to picture the series' writers staff meetings where they'd go over the script for upcoming shows... they had to be like being at the zoo, in the ape section. The meetings had to be wild in the extreme. Writing scripts for this show had to be the highlight of a script writer's career, for there were really no boundaries.

I've used one of Al Bundy's sarcastic comments before. I was a groomsman in the wedding of two of my good friends. As they thought it was amusing, they opted to pair me up with the one member of our circle of friends who had been trying to pursue me for over a year (I was in a relationship when she started, and I wasn't interested by the time my relationship ended). So the wedding vows have been said, and the wedding party is now coming together to walk back from the altar and, as my corresponding bridesmaid approaches me, she asks, "Did you miss me?" It was too good to pass up. I just HAD to do it.... "With every bullet so far!" The wedding photo which my friends have had framed and placed on the mantel over their fireplace is the one taken of myself and the bridesmaid in question - me, with a brilliant smile and her with a glare that should require sunglasses.

I've got all 11 seasons and 262 episodes on dvd. I remember watching this when I was young and from the first beat of the opening credits of the love and marriage theme song and the opening titles that where just so funny. Until the ending they was amazing, each episode and the insults back and forth between each character where legendary. It's why I got the box set. You should just watch the opening credits of the show. Nd you'll see how silly it was, I think there was about 5 or 6 different opening titles credits over those 11 seasons.
